Adrienne, download the Google toolbar. It works awesome! It's really easy to download and stops every pop-up. AND, you can search Google right from whatever webpage you are browsing. I love it!

I just purchased Nortons internet security 2004 and havent had a pop-up since.
Come to think of no spam either.
Checking e-mail 6 times a day to delete junk is a chore I wont miss. Although it is depressing to see how much real mail I do get now hahaha just kidding.

That's strange Neil. I honestly haven't got one single pop-up. It keeps track of the number of pop-ups blocked and mine is up to 231 already. I installed it a couple weeks ago.
Have you installed a spyware finder-type program? I'd install one, delete anything it finds and see if that's any better.

Recentely installed the google toolbar & I'm liking it. I've been to a couple sites that normally fill my screen with popups & haven't gotten any coming through. Neil, check your settings.

Rats! They don't have it for Mac. I get SO MUCH spam & pop ups from Netscape -- they're worse than AOL. ...and eBay - f'cryin' out loud, enormous files that take forever to load and another eternity to ge rid of. Grrrrrrr.

A cheap way to avoid pop-ups is to turn off your java script. However, a lot of web pages now use java. In Netscape 7 under edit, preferences, advanced, scripts & plugins you can limit what pages can do. Also, if you dig deeper in the security settings, you can block web sites, cookies and other things that may cause additional problems. AOL still sucks get a real i.s.p.

I use Ad-aware and run that every couple of weeks. Easy to download and run, best of all it's free too! It catches all the spyware junk and I rarely get any pop ups.

She's gone to bed, but I'll let her know tomorrow..she uses Google all the time, so I'm sure she will want that!
Now...what about spyware? She found a program that looks for spyware on your computer...it found lots...hmmm....but you have to purchase thier product to remove them.....we wondered if it finds what it puts in there ....

Neal try running a program like ad-aware(free download from lavasoft). Some of these pop ups may be on your computer as spyware. This program will remove spyware. If you are a a kazaa user you may have to download that program again unless you know the name of the spyware they put on your computer and avoid knocking that out when you remove the other spywares. Good luck.

I'm with Bob Rochon here, Norton kills two birds with one stone, security and pop up blocker. Hey Bob, I'll e-mail you if it will make you feel wanted. The "Banger Sisters" said you were cool....if that means anything
