If the Cubs win...and they go on to win the world series...don't you Cubs fans get too glib...There's ramifications to Hell freezin over. Lot's of promises we've all made over the years will become due.
I went to Cubs games when I was a kid. But it's my Dad that I'm really happy for. Die hard fan and has waited decades for this.

Mets fan turned Cubs fan here. I got to see Wiggly field and the crowds this summer and immediately fell in love with the high energy atmosphere there. There is alot of history in that ballpark. Isn't it one of the oldest parks still standing?
GO CUBS!!!

Sox fan, but would love to see a Cubs/Red Sox series. Ideally, it woud go into 28 extra innings in Game 7, and both teams would be hobbling out exausted when the commisioner's decide to call it a draw and both would win the series.
If not...COWBOY UP! GO SOX!
Rapid...holding off on painting any "Wait 'til next year" signs for now.

Stephen King (a Red Sox fan) has postulated that having the Cubs and Red Sox in the World Series could bring on the Apocalypse. Or not.

The Red Sox should be utterly ashamed of themselves for their recent behavior. If it were directed at anyone but the Yankees, it would be totally uncalled for!

I'm hoping for a Cubs - Red Sox series. My oldest boy was at game #3 he lives about 1 mile from Wrigley. My nephew is a scout for the Cubs. I grew up a White Sox fan and we always teased Cub fans, but I have been to several Cub games and am going to root them on.

The guy who robbed Alou of the foul ball catch in the 8th, if he doesn't hang himself first, might as well pack his bags and head for Alaska. If they find out who he is he'll be lynched by those crazy fans in the Windy City. I'm sure he didn't have a clue he was doing anything wrong or that the ball was catchable, but the rest is history. Somewhere in another dimension, maybe, there's some ghost ballplayers who have cursed the Cubs and Red Sox. It would be nice for these clubs to get the monkey off their backs so we don't have to be constantly reminded of their woes!!!!!!!!!!!!

I left 24 years ago... never went back & lived there since then, & I'm not a baseball fan at all, in my adult life, but I was a typically avid hometown fan, (I liked the white sox too, & have been to Comiskey Park, but was really a cubs fan) & this seasons crumbling end creates a very bitter disappointment. I don't expect to think about it much after tonight... but I can fell that loss from way out here in the pacific. Too bad, it would have been nice for a change.

Yankees fan here (ducking), just always have been, kids are, whatever. Personally would have liked a Cubs/Yanks series would keep the excitement for me. I've been enjoying these playoffs very much. Love the battle to the end type series (having both go to seven games) Can't wait for tonights game, rooting for the Yanks, knowing it could go either way makes it exciting ... that's good baseball.

Yep, wait till next year! My oldest son called on his cell phone from Wrigley Field minutes before the game started. The fans were going crazy and I could hardly hear him. They were soooooo upbeat. What a huge let-down!!!!!!!!!! There's a numbness to the Chicagoland area today. Some folks are going to need therapy!
