Someone on the 4edgetalk board asked about some
thing like this and as long is I uploaded the pix
for that- thought I would post here as well.
Hadn't seen a weber at the time I built this.

It actually works very well- we have 14" tape on one spindle (so you can mask 15" vinyl on both sides of the table at once) and 24" & 30" rolls on different spindles- easily changed and
they store below- out of the way. The natural tension of the tape coming off the roll seems to be enough- this is one end of a 4x16 foot table- and the 'female taping professionals' can tape 15-16 foot runs easily. For long runs of 15" we use the tape on the upper spindle. Cost maybe $25us. Gene

Nice job Gene.

I want to see more pics of your shop... all that stuff in the background looks good too.

Like OP asked what do you use for the steel bars?

I'm planning to do some shop improvements this month & one thing I want to do is a rack of steel rods in notched supports for all my banners & mag material. Now I think I will do one for transfer tape as well.

anybody got any more inspirational shop pics of these type of improvements?

Thanks- the bars are thin chromed closet rods
that I found at Ace hardware- they were sagging
a bit from the heavier rolls, so I put wooden dowels inside. The retainers are cane tips- easy
to pull off- and soft if you bump them.

For Doug- Pix

My design station- FlexiPro 5.7&7.0

 -

Designs tranfered on network as .gad files to
edge station (omega 2.0)-the paint is worn off
the floor from spinning my 'command' chair between the two stations (directly across from
each other)
 -
The work table- 15" gerber vinyl on right wall-
30" gerber on back wall- 24"calon on left wall-
misc 15" on near left wall
 -

The place is a mess- we are doing a surprise
42 foot Freightliner RV outside (too big for our 12x12 foot door) along with the normal madness.

looks good Gene. Is your envision balanced on a couple of 2x4's?

I know what I need now... more space. That place looks nice.

Hi Doug- it's not as precarious as it looks-
there are boards screwed to the bottoms of the
2x4s- the reason is that the vinyl seems to feed
in and out over the roll holder better when the machine is a bit higher. Gene
