We've been busy tidying things up here at the ranch in preparation for leaving for Edmonton. It irks me a little that just as we get things operational we have to leave for a couple of months, but that's the nature of our business.
The good news is that we are here for the long haul and it will all be here when we get back.
I planted some lawn on the bare spots we had created during construction... used up 50 pounds of grass seed. That should all be greener by the time I return and ready to mow with my John Deere.
And we'll get busy finishing the studio - hopefully in before Christmas. The shop will have the electricity all hooked up shortly after we leave, so I will come back to a well lit and cozy shop in the middle of winter... something I am looking forward to with great anticipation.
Here's the electrical tower/train station shich sits out by the road Still lots of work to be done in spring.
Here's the shop from on top of the berm which was just planted with grass... we haven't done any detail work on the outsideof the building yet... again it's going to be a busy spring!
And here's a shot of the huge steel doors. THe doors can be swung open with just one finger... real smooth! I want to add lots of detail to them yet... rivets on the edges of the layers plus a steel flamecut logo in the center and a braided steel border around the edge. My little hot rod likes it's new home!
The trailer is packed and ready to go on Monday. Any heads in Edmonton... I'll be in Galaxyland 10 hours a day - six days a week and easy to find!

Dan, thanks for the pictures. Mandy (my wife) really likes the entrance (electrical) tower, a do I. She's wondering where you are going to place the chicken sign? I's a gorgious looking shop in such an idealic setting. We both really liked Yarrow, has a real 'small town' look and feel to it, pretty neat. Hope all goes well for you in Edmonton, at least the weather will not be a factor for you and the crew while you are working. The commute is another thing though. Let us know when you are going to start the up island project, really interested after seeing your sketches.
