Well the annual climb the mountain just to wear out this ol' man has occured. It was a beautiful fall day at the Jackie B. and Gary, ranch on the big hill. All the alumni was there with a few new folks to bring up the tailings. As the day progressed Mike meyer and his gal (I forget names ) dropped in from their stay in Reno. The Moon,Little Moon and even Mini Moon was there along with Big Moon, Heath. Victor Georgiou, Mke Pulskamp and wife, Francisco Vargas and Melanie, Richard Bustamonte, oh! the doggy crew held court at our feet and had some scwables over who had alpha rights from time t'time. Even Steve Shortreed, payed a visit by phone, not wanting to be absent from all the fine hospitality annnnd sniffin' out the BBQ thru the phone line. We all got some time with the mayor by phone so that made his appearance official. All in all, a good visit with good people.
As Frampton...would say, Lets do it again.
Thas it! CRAZYJACK

First off - WHO LEFT THEIR PANASONIC CAMERA? - I'll ship it to you. Once again, the Letterheads just made this Volcano magical. I am always amazed and left with goosebumps after the fact. Mike & Ayleen Meyer were absolutely the best. He talked shop, with many stories, and took up the brush in the later hours, showing his strokes on an old board. Stef "The Moon" brought paints - THANK YOU - and even her Heath gave it a try at a little striping (he's definetly a natural!). Vic and his dogger Toby - even Letterhead dogs get along, well, except for the few alpha growls. Richard, as always, made that "Wet on Wet" technique look so easy - even took the time this morning to teach my daughter & her buddy (they're jazzed and want to have a booth at our Chili Cook-Off in Oct.). Mike & Donna Pulskamp (look for the guy with pink tipped hair) were a true delight, especially the jokes. Terry & her boyfriend came & stayed for but a few hours, but their comraderie and the ease of conversation with everyone was just like a big family reunion. Crazy Jack - what can I say - you're an awesome Beer can blues player. Cisco & Melody - love the chorizo burritos this morning. Scooter - absolutely great meeting you and hope you'll come up again soon. Have I forgot anyone? Probably. And there's simply too much that went on to post it all. You'll be hearing from others, I'm sure. Sadly, I can't find my digital camera cord, yet. I'm still a tad bit foggy this morning (or is it afternoon?). But Adrienne, I promise some pics soon. I'm definetly going to Mazeppa. And Harvest Moon. And . . . . . Thank you all for coming. It was pure joy having you here! Bomba-Dear

Uuuuhh, That would be my camera, got home and freaked! dug all through the truck called Jackson then looked on here. Guess I brought it back in to get a parting shot of the wonderful weekend and left it. So I can't post any pics either. I have my cord though! Are you going down to Jackson anytime before Harvest moon? I could get it then.
Deb and I had a great time and can't wait for next time.
Man, watching Mike letter that old board was cool. I learn a little each time I see something like that.
Richard, I will come up to bother you soon. Thanks for the wet on wet demo, and tell Hellen we missed her.
It was terrific to put some faces to names and hob nob with the big wigs. Sorry my joke bombed. I haven't had one go down that bad in a long time. Lots of fun!
Lots of cool people, hope to hang out with all of you lots more in the future!

The drive was GREAT! A little windy but very nice! We stopped into Ron and Kristi Percell's and visited, great people! Saw Sammy Kershaw in Concert in Sparks Nevada at the Nugget! Jackie's was a nice finishing touch to the trip! She pours out her heart, and more people should be like her! She's the best!
I even sat at the bar in Volcano and had an Iced tea as Ayleen had an Anchor Steam! Then Mike and Deb Pulskamp and Richard Bustemante accompanied Ayleen and I to a Great Breakfast in Sutter's Creek!!
It's back to a balmy 30 some degrees here lookin for high's in the 50's! Climate Shock!!
I'll be at the Micro meet next year for sure!

My appologies for not mentioning Scooter, the X is silent. Seems to be a good student of the game. As for Mike Meyer, what a flashback for me to watch him letter a chunk of barnboard. I felt like fightin' him for the next couple strokes. Seriously, it's been a long time since I have had a quill out and I got a buzz seeing a great sign writer at work and with grace and speed. Yeh, I had a little sympathy for the Meyer, duo getting back to their digs and the cool mornings with fall coming on. But, as far as the midwest is concerned.. there's no better place to be on a fall day. Spent many a winter in that country. Thanks again Jackie and Gary, it is always worth the drive. By the way, the beer can harps are going to be on the market around mid-year 2004. That is based on my schedule.
Watch out for the wheelagators... CrazyJack

Mike, I just checked for flights, it's $268 r/t from LA to MnSP, not sure if that's a good price? My thought is, isn't it a bit brisky during that time of year? My guess would be...we'll all be painting indoors? From all the stories I heard about your last meet, sounded like the place to be!
Rick, we didn't want to say anything, but we saw you by the coyotes on the ridge...saying something about "can you hear me now?" We didn't know who you were talking to, but figured you were on your documentary sign mission for the underground sign writer magazine..."The Incognito Sign Meet." You might have to flip a coin for the Salza Maker with Adrienne, you know now, it's become a collectors item.
CrazyJack, now can these harps be ordered in 12, 16, or 24 oz cans?

Yo Adrienne - sorry, but I'm keepin' the Salsa maker. After all, it is a souvenier and I hope Cisco will provide the recipe that goes along with it. However, I do have a can of smoked oysters up for grabs and 1/2 an onion. Why not come for the next meet and stay for clean-up? You never know what you might find.
Rick, did you lose your cell phone? I found one in the back 40 and it was screaming "I HEAR you, I HEAR you". What's strange is hearing the coyotes now, trying to imitate "Can you hear me now"? Howling at the moon will never be the same in Volcano.
I e-mailed some photo's to Steve last night to post. So they should be coming soon.
And dear Crazy Jack - when you make them Beer Can Harmonica's, we'll have another meet - The Beer Can Blues Meet - where you can sell your harmonicas and then teach us all how to play the blues the way you do.
By the way, thanks to Ron Purcell for providng some CD's and sign mags as door prizes. We never did do the "door", but those that were interested were happy to go home with a prize.
Richard & Cisco - I bought frames yesterday and am proudly displaying your work in my living room. It makes me smile every time I walk through.
Richard, the time you spent Sunday with my daughter Jenny and her friend Megan, teaching them "Wet on Wet" is, as they say, Priceless! They are so thrilled with their own artwork. They insist we go shopping today for supplies, including the respirators.
And, of course, Mike - your beautiful barn wood sign has a very special place - right in our dining room where I can admire it while having dinner, breakfast, or whatever. (Ayleen - you are a treasure!)
I can't say enough about everyone.
You have all honored me in ways that brighten my daily world. I adore each & every one of you. Thank you for coming to Volcano and making my part of the world very, very special.
Bomba-Dear
Ah . . . Steve . . . those pics, please?

Jackie e-mail me your photo. I'll upload it and tell you the address so you can post it.
The pic address you used is for a website. You'll need an address where the photo is. I have plenty of room; so if any of you want to send me photos from the meet, just e-mail them to me
