What a surreal experience the Splash meet was. I've only been to 2 meets now, so I'm not a frequent attender like many of you are, so this feeling is a strange one for me.
The excitement, push, and positive energy is suddenly all left up to me. Me in my quiet shop, with all my work laid out in front of me waiting for my attention. I don't lack being busy to keep me occupied, just the motivation to move.
My fingers and mind are doing one project at a time, getting through my list, but my thoughts constantly hop back to my meet experiences.
I guess time itself will take care of this little slump, but I was just curious if this is a common feeling among meet goers once you return home?

fkab was also my second meet...(and there was so much to get done b4 i left for it) it was soooo incredible to hang with such a wonderful bunch of talented and great folks...i painted, i gold leafed, i watched others, laughed alot, ate great food...i bought stuff to do glue chipping, gold leaf, purple ruler(must have)brushes...charge it baby! fun fun fun....fast forward 4 days later....long ride home. the next day...monday...BLAAAHH...all the sh!t i didn't get done was staring me in the face, all the people i conveniently ditched the week b4 were calling or showing up...i so wanted to just be left alone so i could design something for my piece of glass...and glue chip...then guild....but no...i have stuff piling up, the girl i hired got a fulltime bar tending gig(good move for her BUT now, i'm alone again...naturally. haha...remember that song? no?...ok...well anyway...my point?...i feel the same damn way you do! see...we're not freaks! i feel much better now!

Donna.... you think THAT'S bad.... wait til you host your OWN meet !!!! 6 months of rush rush rush.... panic panic panic...then... it's over.... you will never feel such a rush in all your life... the shear euphoria ... then.... the emptiness when it is all over..... but.... you will NEVER forget the folks that you met... the newbees, the oldies and all that went on. I am so looking forward to attending my next meet !!!! And, yes, we DO understand your feelings !!!!
And, for the newbees that have not attended a meet yet, get out there and just DO IT !!! You will never feel as enriched and motivated in any other way !!!

I've been to three meets so far and have found myself in the same state of mind every time.
After FKAB, knowing what to expect when I got home, I'd scheduled a couple of jobs that would allow me time to play around with some new ideas while waiting for stuff to dry. I guess it's my way of going through the "meet withdrawl symptoms".
