Just got our power back on at 7pm. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
We got a lot of yard work done and had some nice dark evenings together.
You don't realize how much you use something till you've lost it for 3 days.
Hope all is well from the big storm.
CJ

About 8 years ago, the same thing happened just north of Knoxville. There was a man threatening suicide (with a knife, no less) if they didn't turn his power back on.

Just what, pray tell, is so addictive that runs on electricity? Hmmmm...

We took a direct hit here, and there are lierally hundreds of huge trees down. Most folks STILL don't have power. People are in "survivor mode", with warnings not to drink the tap water and bags of ice going for $12 (if you can find any).

Have a friend that just bought a house & moved to VA a month ago. His power has been out since Wednesday & they were told if things go right, he might have it back Thursday. We met him halfway yesterday with the generator after he stopped & bought a gas grill to take home. I feel really bad for him, having all these unexpected expenses at once. With buying the house, it was "next summer" we'll buy the gas grill, chainsaw, etc.
