GMI vinyl is a new brand to me, being a subcontractor and in the Front Line so to speak I thought I'd mention my observations. This brand has been picked up by a local supplier, I have no detailed information as to the manufacturer etc, as I haven't spoken to the rep yet. Don't crucify me if I don't have the molecular terminology or the chemical makeup down pat, I'm just the messenger. Applications so far: Gloss level: OK-Very good Weedability - Suicide weeding of 12mm .5" letter on a worn out Roland PNC 1100 no probs
Vinyl banners: Good adhesion, in fact bloody good adhesion. Colourbond: Excellent adhesion, needs application fluid with some slip in order to give you a little time to work it. Coated Aluminium: As per colourbond, requires some slip but a little more time before removing app tape. Corflute: Put it down dry but with care. HIPS Put it down dry and work it hard. Fibreglass brand new refrig pantech example) Put it down wet with plenty of slip and work it well. Conforms well over rivets/hinges etc with little more than ambient heat in local conditions.
The only thing left now is to see how it performs over time. Value for money, at worst it seems very good for banners.
Oh Yeah, while I'm thinking of it... Down-side, the backing sheet curls unless you app tape the enire cut edge while in storage. HTH, David

its Been in my shop since they started. I use to test this product for GMI. They Had Lots of Problems in the Begining but they Cleraed that up. Its as good or Better. example their cast Blows every other vinyl away.

Most of the boxes have 3M "Scothcal" Electrocut(Tradmark) Film written on the boxes.
Looks to me likes its a 3M product relabeled with a diferent name.
IT all acts like 3M vinyl too.

i got the rest of the vinyl curtis didnt get....hehehehehehehehehe. great stuff, been using it for couple years and is as good as avery...intermediate. as curt said all hp is 3M 7125 vinly. my only complaint is the intermediate yellow....is really thin, to thin to do windows...it is almost translucent.
