A customer wants 12'' cut out letters on a metal building but wants them on two strips or tracks. What is this called and where to find it? How much do you charge to install them?
Personally, I think they're ugly that way but that's what he wants. Thanks

They can be called many things (runners, spacer strips, letter tracks, to name a few) but they all do the same thing.
These runners allow you mount the letters to the strips instead of loading up the wall with a boatload of holes.
I would suggest either wood (properly primed and painted) or 1" square aluminum tubing. If you are ordering plastic formed letters, remember to tell them in advance regarding your mounting method. Studs and pads work well.
Have a great one!
