It is ALL chemistry! Just as Kryptonite and Superman's x-ray vision is "BLOCKED" by Lead. So it is wih UV rays! The Lead put in paint,WAS NOT for coverage. Although coverage was a side effect. The REASON Flourecent paint(seems)brighter,is because... the molecules are farther apart,letting light bounce off MORE of the pigment. Which ALSO lets this type of paint FADE faster. When Lead is added to paint,it "FILLS" the spaces between the molecules for the LONGEVITY factor in protecting the pigments from UV rays! It ain't Rocket Science..But it sure is Chemistry As Joey Madden and others will tell you!

Sorry Pat...but you got some wrong information on Flouro paints!
They are not pigments...they are dyes and fillers! They are so bright because UV rays break them down, thus giving off bright colors....that is also why they fade so fast!
