I love warm and fuzzies... most of the time.
The shop project passed a major milestone today... THE ROOF IS TOTALLY FINISHED! I can't tell you how much of a relief that is. Between my achin' back and the coming rains, it sure is a good feeling.
And with the finished roof comes the next steps of construction.
It's warm and fuzzy feeling time... and I'm speaking of insulation. I started yesterday.
It's been a few years since I've done insulation and I wasn't looking forward to it much. But I think I've gotten a lot tougher of late, because so far it hasn't bothered me much as far as itching.
The building is becoming rapidly quieter as the rafters are stuffed with the insultation.
The best part is the drywall board is stacked along the walls, ready to go up with a vengence on Monday morning. And NO I don't do drywall. It and the electrical are the only things being subcontracted out for this project.
While I'm away to the meet in Nanaimo next weekend the shop is being painted by my crew. (Daughter Rebecca is in charge)
The following MONDAY we move in for real and begin high speed pre-production of clients work in our brand new shop!!!
After a long hard summer, the final stages of this phase of the project are coming to an end. We have to get back to clients work for a little while, but the best stages of our project are yet to come... icing the grand cake we have built!
Here's the pics taken today right after we finished the roof!

Awesome, Dan! I didn't expect it to look quite so traditional though. I thought it would be some huge sculpted charactor and the entry would be through his mouth or ear.

I just got back from the Vaseaux Lake fire and I waved to you when I drove past on the highway. You looked really busy so I dont think you noticed me! No hard feelings. Actually, if I had the time and wasnt headed for the ferry, I would have liked to stop by and see it for myself up close. Maybe next time. See you next weekend at the Splash!
