Sorry I missed you last week, but How's the new printer working? Is it dependable? what about the prints? Clear? I bet they are.

Hello Mr. Butler...

The Matan is working out just fine... no gripes yet and the learning curve thus far has been painless... no goofs yet... (knock on wood)
Operation is simple, a lot less complicated than I'd feared. Machine control is becoming comfortable, and up to now there's been no surprises. I'm training 2 people to use it and they find it straightforward. So far we're still designing in Corel, and ripping with Flexi. It rips quick and you can stack a bunch of jobs in the queue to print when you're ready. Print speed is amazing, one set of process color labels using 16" x 15' of vinyl took less than 5 minutes to print (including rip time). Reprint orders will be even quicker to produce, as the ripped files are archived.
Gonna run my first job printing directly onto reflective tomorrow, I'm looking forward to see how well that works.
Print quality on the roll of oracal 651 that came with it was good, since then I've tried HP arlon, and Promogloss Arlon, Both look good. I've haven't yet had the opportunity to print on clear.
