so I have a gerber IV B, with a unilink communicator adapter. Problem is that I changed the hard drive in the computer that was originally operating it, the new hard drive is now seated comfortably in a new box, I have searched the internet far and wide unable to find any tutorials on setup, also I am running flexi sign 5.6. Well I have run the gerber on both the 9 pin comports, and 25 pin parallel ports, I have also ran the 56k modem on comport one's address, (yes it was pretty hard to do, heh heh).. but I have yet to figure it out, I have done everything that I can think of, but nothing has worked so far, I am going to call flexi sign's tech support back up on monday and see if I can get it going but I really doubt it, if anyone can help please do me and my buddy are losing like 150 dollars a day, and are afraid to advertise cause it would only ruin us right now, please help, I am begging anyone who reads this, just add what ever you think could help, I will read and try darn near anything
[Thanks]
I am usually @ c:\telnet freeshell.net if you can telnet there if you want to talk to me, or my email is malloc at survivor.com [Thanks]

I'm sure there is some fix, but in time, something will have to give, your Flexi is so old that Tech support will probably not help, you are stuck using older operating systems, and sooner or later this old technology, plotter and software will fail. I just talked to a guy who bought a new computer, put his casmate in, and didn't work, sooner or later you will have to upgrade.I love my 4B, and Flexi 5.8, but my Flexi 7 on XP and Gaphtec is way more reliable.

Adelphia..I don't want to be the one to dispute your intentions..BUT since your profile shows you as being born December 13, 1901 I am assuming you are approximately 102 years old.

If that is the case, you should be worrying about things other than how to revive a 4B.

ALSO your profile shows your interests as " marijuani " your spelling not mine.

You seem like an interesting 102 year old to me!!! LOL

Especially since his shop is on High St. Maybe he is high. Maybe he thinks he is smarter than us. No, I guess he isn't because he can't figure out what he did to his computer... Damn shame... Truly a damn shame. It could be an attempt at humor. I fail to see the humor, but hey, what the heck do I know?

Tech support on Flexi 5.6 is going to be non-existant. Heck, they charge for tech support now. I doubt that there are few, if any, techs that will be able to help you. Besides, this sounds like a computer issue and not one that really concerns the software. They will wish you well.

I wish I could be more helpful but I can't. It might be time to consider an upgrade. I sure hope you stop losing that like $150 a day. A $300-400 upgrade on the software seems like a bargain at that rate.
