I'm a bit frazzled tonight as tomorrow at 10 am. I am finally having sinus surgery. Since I feel so connected to Letterville, it just seemed right to let you know. I wasn't nervous until yesterday, when I really thought about it in detail, as the date got closer. Fortunately, it should make me feel better, as I have had some severe headaches when I exercise and such. Little did I know as I pushed for a catscan for my dental areas, they found nothing, but informed me that I should have been suffering more than I was.
I just wondered if any of you out there any of had sinus surgery? No one in my family has sinus problems to have it,so they really couldn't tell me what it was like, but I have conversed with several customers and friends, and, then after hearing some news I learned about gel packs which are much easier to deal with. It's the state of the art technology. At first they squirmed and tried to convince me I was over reacting, but I won, after about 5 weeks of insisting. So... here we go! Hopefully, the doctor went to bed earlier than me! I am just placing my trust in God to guide the doc. I'll let you know how it goes, for any of you that might be having it someday.

Been there, done that, prayers on the way. First three days after were just mildly uncomfortable. Insist that they give you good pain killers post op and you should sail through. Poast healing results for me were terrific.
Stay calm and best wishes for a speedy recovery

Sorry to hear you have not been so well Deb. Liddy had this operation just after we were married and it made a great change to her life after the op. The operation she had was the one where they drilled out the nostrils and packed them but it opened up a whole new world to her afterwards and she has never had any problems since. I am sure you have made the correct decision. Our prayers go out to you and Godspeed your recovery. Regards Dave.

Good luck Deb - you'll be in my prayers. I'll second Irish's suggestion, ask for strong pain killers. You heal quicker when you're not in as much pain. Also a bag of frozen peas is a good pliable ice pack if you need it. Best wishes.

Had some surgery for a deviated septum (sp?) 6 years ago, as I was having a hard time breathing. The recovery was a couple of days, and it was the best thing I could have ever done. I am so glad I did it, as I breath much easier, especially when I have a head cold. Were praying. Bob K.

Deb, I've not gone thru this myself, but my sister did and she too thinks it was the greatest thing she could have done. You are in our thoughts. Good luck!

Thank you guys!
I'm headed out now,and have a good feeling about the doctor's success. My brother will be here in a minute or so, and finishing up on a wedding banner for Saturday morning. Didn't have breathing problems, only headaches recently for a month, so this is quite a surprise for me. I am looking forward to returning to my sports. God Bless all of you too. See you soon.

The day was a success. Thanks you for your thoughts and prayers. I know my surgery was rather minor but all surgeries are serious. Many of you have had situations that are a lot rougher, and I am praying for you all the time. I love you guys!!! Thanks for the posts and the double posting, and Si, you may be surprised if by tomorrow, I don't have your nose!
It's still rough sitting here but I wanted to let you know how it went. The hospital staff was the best I have ever had, and I know this due to the fact that I had major surgery there for adhesions last fall, and a couple trips to the ER this spring. They are more attentive and friendly, with superior knowledge in medicine. I was at ease there. The after effects are not pleasant, but overall, the recuperation time is going to be short.
My brother dazzled me and the staff with his scientific magazine articles about the chemicals in our brain and the healing process/ how stress can interfere with that, in technical terms. And, before the surgery he and I were looking through computer mags and his adobe photoshop manual that he is studying. My dreams have been colorful all day and I guess it was due to that. Off to bed, now, as I'm in for another fun day at the docs!
