Are any of you hand lettering people lefthanded?

It hasn't bothered me since calligraphy classes, but lately, I have been practicing hand lettering, in the hope of developing a good brush script. Now I find that I'm having a hard time with the rounded bottom ends of each stroke that continues to the right. It is easier for me to finish that stroke with the following one, working from right to left, but it really takes away some of the "swing".
Is there any great lettering artists that are left handed, und do you know of any brush style alphabet developed by such an artist?
[Thanks]

There are a bunch of us lefties that hand letter.
It would be a pretty long list of names. I think
there was a previous post some time back that
concerned "south paw" sign writers. You're right,
it is different to learn to hand letter when you're left handed. I hand letter with a brush
but my calligraphy with a pen is difficult to say the least.

Hi Lottie, I know quite a few lefties and the one thing I have noticed is that they all are very good at signwriting windows (in reverse). For some strange reason lefties seem to have this mirror image vision which allows them to see the job better in their brains when working back to front. Most lefties I know are also very good natural tradesmen.

We all start off as right handed...
but the good ones get over it!

My first lesson in life was to be a non-conformist..

Does that help?

.....Another lady from Sack.....I can't spell
that....we meet Suelynn in 'Q'.
Anyway, Roy was right. There was a previous post on the subject and not to long ago. There
is a bunch of us lefthanders. Ken Malar (sp?)
being one of them. He had some instruction sheets
that showed brush stokes and directions.
Call me, E-mail me....what ever....I'll
talk about script.

Bob, are you in all seriousness saying that you can paint with both hands? Does that mean that you can paint a sign in half the time and make twice as much money as us regular, normal, common people?? [Frown]

Roy, calligraphy is a real bummer when you are left handed. I would have wanted so much to get really good at it (kinda like Timothy Bottoms)
but the only way I can do it is by using felt pens, because you can push the tip, and it's not the same.

Hey, David, I read something like this a while ago (maybe on this board?): If right handed people are using the left side of their brains, and left handed people the other side, then the "Lefties" are the only people in their right mind. [Big Grin]

Shirley, [Applause]

Bob, you and Roy are right, I just discovered several other posts, after doing a search. I'm sorry that I forgot to do that before posting, there is lots of good advice there.
I would be very interested in that instruction sheet you are mentioning.
Thank you all for answering.
