I remember an article or post on shop scheduling boards for tracking production progress. I think it might have been Mike Jackson. I've searched the BB and looked through some old Signcrafts but haven't found anything. Is anyone familiar with this post/article?

Sorry, I can't help you with the specific article, but I can share our method:

White (melamine) board with a post-it note for each job in house. Post-it note indicates due dates. Job tickets are in 8.5 x 14 manilla folder pockets in a file above the posting board. When a ticket moves to a new area of production the post it note is moved to indicate where it is.

Also,
Jobs are entered on a computer program with a list of tasks attached. As a task is completed it is checked off. The program can be "synced" on the internet so each computer and PDA can update their job list at any time.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone. It's getting a little busier than I'm used to around here. I can't find a damn thing. I even lost a 50 yd roll of vinyl for about 20 min. (it was in my van!?!). A little fine tuning should do the trick. Thanks again.
