In a few weeks I will be in Long Beach doing my workshop for Sign Business and I want to drive up to see Lola Grey in Wilmington. If possible, Bob Gilliland and I are going to take her out to dinner.

I've heard that she loves chocolate. But not just any chocolate, but a milk chocolate that is available there in California.

Does anyone know what brand it is and where it might be available? It will be a special gift for a special lady.

Ray,
I'd say that it must be either See's or Ghirardhelli...those are the two "California" chocolates...does that help jog anyone's memory?

Cool! Now that I've seen a multiple choice question, I KNOW the answer!!!

See's!

She told me once, and since it's not available here, I didn't write it down.

Oh, and by the way...it was great meeting you, Ray. You're every bit as good a guy as your reputation.

Hi Ray,

She likes See's, Milk Choclate (not the dark) and likes the Nuts & Fruit mix.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Kimberly and Kristi!! (and Mr. Adobe for confirmation) [Wink]

Raymond,

Their website has a location listed at Los Altos Center, 2129 Bellflower Blvd in Long Beach. I think we can accommodate some “fresh” stock from there before getting together.

That See's milk chocolate must be some special stuff! I like chocolate too and next time I'm out that way will have to go on a chocolate expedition.

Hey Bob....I'm surprised you haven't mentioned that I wore a SignLab button for you at the Orlando show.

Wow! I'd forgotten all about See's chocolate. I love the ones with nuts. That is some good stuff!

Ray,

There are usually See's stores in the major California airports...look around when you arrive.

Being a chocoholic, See's is my favorite gift to give. I usually hand pick my favorite nuts and chews, with a few soft centers, my favorite being "chocolate butter" and "Rocky Road"

I live just up the street from that See's store. I'd be happy to get you whatever you want (1lb 2lb whatever) and bring it to you at the show. I'm planning to be there Wed through Saturday.

Thanks everyone. Isn't it great to have a question and receive the answer so quickly?

Dawn, thanks for the offer to bring some to the show, but Bob Gilliland is picking some up for us. I may just pick some up for me since it seems they are some special chocolates.

I will carry your greetings to Lola.
