Well, I've been livin in good ol' (*cough*ack!) St Louis since November, the week of Thanksgiving and I have to say livin outta cardboard boxes blows..
Originally I was on contract for 8 weeks.. well it's now middle of week #10 and I just agreed to another 5 weeks.. why? I dunno... I guess it's starting to warm back up (woohoo, hit 35 degrees today) and I dont hate it as much.. or maybe it's just about the easiest way I've found to make money.. sittin on my butt, do virtually nothing (yet way more than anyone else gets done in this office).. then go home feeling full of energy and completing my own orders..
I dont see how some letterheads can go months on end, from location to location, livin like a nomad.. I'm stayin at the same spot and it drives me crazy cause I dont have all my stuff with me. =)

Just exactly do you do in your cubical? Is this the kind of job like in the movie "OFFICE SPACE", where you look at millions of lines of code and try to fix any date with "00" in it?
-----------------from the movie------ "yeah, great, just terriffic, Did you get that notice we sent out about cover sheets? I'll send you another to make sure you know how to properly use one." --------------------------------------
hahahahahahahaahhahaahahahahahah

There's an image in there of a building under construction, you can see the windows being put on the building.
I design the windows and make sure the framing is strong enough to support its own weight, plus design the details of special conditions like different types of window systems that intersect each other. I also have to do the fabrication drawings of each and every unique extruded member that makes up the framing in these windows. Sometimes I get to get a little crazy and build the complex (nasty) details in true 3D form using AutoCAD. I've been using AutoCAD for 10 years and I have to admit, I'm pretty damn good and fast at it otherwise I wouldnt have been asked to come back to St Louis. =)
If you want to download the ZIP files in there, feel free to do so. They contain more images of the building under construction, even close-ups of the window units themselves, plus pics of the finished building.
As far as the boss chasin the wimmin around.. well, it's an engineering firm, not many women to chase around.
