Hi Heads:

Any words of wisdom for application of vinyl on a pan-o-flex face. I haven't done it in a while and need a refresher. Customer is providing the substrate otherwise I would have printed the face on my own material.

Hi Rick.

If your customer is supplying 3M Panaflex...you might want to find out why they chose this particular product.

Like all things 3M, Panaflex is a premium product for which they probably paid a premium price...with the expectation of premium performance. They may also have expectations regarding 3M's Matched Component System (MCS) Warranty. If so, you should strongly consider using only recommended 3M films and/or imaging processes.

3M have also introduced a number of "intermediate performance" (and lower cost) products in the last 18 months or so...one of which is called Panagraphix II. Doubtful that your customer would confuse the two brands, but maybe worth verifying.

Here's a link to info about 3M's Flexible Substrates that might prove interesting -- and hopefully useful to you.

Rick, Rapid tac was designed for "premium cast films".
We thought (back in 1987) most every sign shop would go with the p/cast, so we kept selling Rapid Tac and kept getting more calls about it not working well with the films being used (which started leaning toward intermediate, econemy, calandered, etc.).

So we built Rapid Tac II for ALL films, it is a faster flashing yet stronger penetrant.
Works best on everything other then "premium cast", works better in COLD weather, or for "glass applications".

Unbelivable for "reflective" (even though most manufacturers say "no wet apps for reflective/metalized"), just don't use R.T.II on cast in warm weather, it dosn't allow much positioning time in that situation.
