I have been asked to design a team shirt for our brackett finals. I was thrilled till they told me what they didn't want. "NO CARS" . I could not believe it. This is a dragway going to brackett finals with no cars in the design. I am at a loss. Cars are my thing. I do want to include the following: 2002 IHRA Sportsman Track of the Year. I just can't think of a design with no cars. Could someone give me some ideas and get me started? I know we could use the tree and a scoreboard but what else. Lots of flames? Please help. I am at a loss. [Dunno]

I'm not a race guy, but I guess the "tree" is the lights... maybe a perspective view looking straight down the strip with the tree in the foreground some pavement with.. I'd say tread marks, but I guess that there is no tread in drag racing, so maybe some rubber marks & 2 big clouds of exhaust filling the center of the design. The top could have the 2003 yada yada yada that you mentioned, then in the cloud of smoke you could put "Gone to Bracket Finals" or make it like a sign hanging off the tree?

just getting some brainstormin started. don't mind me, I didn't want to wait & see if I came up with some unbeatable idea, so just typing what comes to mind... good luck,. show us what you come up with.

Yes the tree is the first and best thing to come to mind. It say's exactly what is going on. You can tie the track name in to it, with long snakeing black streeks fadeing away in the distance. The quiet before the big storm? Sounds like fun job.

Thanks Doug. That is what I was thinking about. We are in the mountain of VA and the track sits in a beautiful valley. There are mountains in the background as you look down our track. The first year, the racers owned the track, we used a picture of that view. I was thinking of drawing that view, with no cars in it, and in the clouds putting a cross. Then have a few flames with the wording about the 2002 in the flames. Don't know what it will look like but thanks for you ideas. I knew more ideas to help me design. Keep the ideas coming. PLEASE! [Thanks]

How about dropping the type over a checkered flag...a wild looking one.
A long strip of road...with a trophy at the end.
Have the lettering look like it's burning rubber.
Make the type look like it's blasting a hole thru the shirt.
Tilt the type 30 degrees and dump a Hurst Slap stick across the back of the design.
How about doing a reflection off of a helmet visor.

Just a few quick ideas.

That's a pretty cool illustrative concept Ray...lots of artistic license could be employed in what is reflected there. A trophy babe, cheering spectators, the name of the track in reverse, wall of flames. I think the concept is to promote the track rather than a particular class of car. I like the idea of the valley shot, looking down on the grounds, perhaps with a long stream of (small) spectator's cars qued up to get in the gate. Something to show the venue in a positive light - it's unique location, or fans having a good time, things like that.

A trophy babe lowering her bikini top just enough to reveal the tracks name etc.... on her tatoo. You wanna get it noticed at the track don't ya?

I don't blame them for not wanting cars, flags, etc..it's all be overdone. Hey, Maybe a calvin......

How about a a girl in a wet t-shirt with a print of a calvin whizzing on the names of the surrounding tracks.

Or what every driver wants on thier car..."Put a naked woman on it."

too funny [Thanks] Thanks Mike
