I really don't know what I classify as: at times, I feel like a pinhead, other times a letterhead (used to be a pothead, but that doesn't apply to this)...
But anyways, I think it's a COOL idea. I hate I missed last year's. Rules are rules: if you can work within em', play the game. If not, sit on the bench and cheer on the rest of the team...

As far as choosing names for businesses, that's all up to you, just let Bruce know the business types. But please, guys, don't name EVERY business "Letterville" company, ok?!?
Do something like Fry Electric - Let us Remove your Shorts! or Dr I. M. Bonkers, Psychiatry or whatever. Make it fun, make it serious... make it custom by YOU.
And Joey... why don't you do a model vehicle then? I, for one, would be thrilled with receiving that! Go thru the list and come up with one of the businesses that you could do some cool striping and little teeny lettering for. I'd be willing to bet you'd come up with something totally awesome!

I have read over all the responses here. I am going to make one major change because the idea just absolutely rocks!
Peter Schuttinga suggested that when your project is done, you submit photographic proof (an e-mail address will be provided for that because the Hotmail account will not take the large files that are going to be sent) and you will given the name of the person you will send your project to.
This will allow all our international Letterheads to play also. I am sure that most of us would not have a problem with waiting for an incoming panel if they were assured that one was actually on it's way.
This is going to assure that anyone who submitted a project will actually receive one in return. This is going to ease a lot of doubting minds as to wether their efforts will be in vain or not. Great idea, Peter!
We have 20 entries so far. Make your selections while the pickings are good... Well, they are all good but maybe one strikes your fancy more than another.
I am looking forward to hearing from you all!

Heres an idea. Like Dana said, you wouldnt want to put the title Letterville on every panel, but what about putting an address on each one. Like Bowers Amusement Park, then Letterville as the address in small letters somewhere or whatever. That way the sign is tied to the site, since its a letterville panel swap.

That thought hit me too Jeff. Cant put USA, or Canada, or whatever. But it might be a good idea to put "City of Letterville". Maybe? Just trying to help out here, it was just something that crossed my mind.

I enjoyed the first panel swap. And I look at the panel Judy sent me every morning.I have it hanging in my office. But, I am just entering the busy time of my year and I feel I don't have time to do justice to a project at this time. So Good luck all. And Maybe I can participate next time. Bill

Bruce...I'm glad I registered early. Got my first choice!!!
I commend you for taking on this project. It just baffles me how some people (none of whom I recall raising their hands to be the coordinator), just whine about rules, regulations, schedules, stripes vs. lettering...
man, ya get the feeling if ya handed out hundred dollar bills...people'd be crying about" why'd ya gimme a hundred, why didn't ya gimme 5 20's..NOBODY'S gonna have change fer 100..."
Looking forward to it all, and again
THANK YOU BRUCE AND BRUCE'S BRAINS (er, I mean Dana)

What a wank. It seemed like such a good idea at the outset too. Maybe an alternative swap would be to do a satirical panel and send it to someone you dislike, at least that way the panels would be completed with a bit of passion.

I think you missed a few good ideas for the "Lettervile" places...
Consignment store "Letterville Speedway" snowmobile club sports arena/ballpark fast food restaurant car rental video rentals court house nursing home high school massage therapist palm reading warehouse outlet information booth used car parts hospital university
Ok, I'm probably making this worse, but I had about 2000 ideas pop into my head when I read your original post. Go figure.

Another RULE! Seems if you don't send your info to the correct address...in other words don't email to Bruce's email address, send it to the 'panel swap' email account.... ya..no problem...I'll send it all again later...when I have time...

Bummer for rules, huh Shirley? Better not sent it to Bruce's personal email, since his computer's been screwy and down lately and it makes it almost impossible for him to check it!!
So, by using Hotmail, he can check it from any computer... even mine!
Cool ideas, Ray. Maybe the next swap can be streets, part 2, with all the leftover ideas for shops.
I've seen a couple of the lists... it's kinda fun to see what people choose! I had a hard time choosing... but I wrote my email to the panel swap address, with my 5 choices and all my info.
Bruce is waiting until the sign-up deadline to choose his from what's left.
I really like not knowing who's gonna get my panel - keeps me from being so gosh darn intimidated!!

Some thoughts gathered while pondering why I ever volunteered to do this...
The list has been updated. Remember, if there is a business you want to do a panel foe, and it is not listed, please let us know and we will accomandate you.
We have almost 30 people already! That is awesome! I am pleased with the results so far.
We are leaving tomarrow night to go to Quebec, so I might be a little behind on the updates. I had a serious problem with my computer recently and just got it back online today. Thank you for your patience. Dana was getting a little tired of sharing hers... just like I did when her's was down for the count.
So much to do... so little time...
Have a great one!

We just got back from FKAB yesterday. We took a long liesurely drive back through the Adirondacks. I apologize for any delays in responding to e-mails. I will have everything all straightened out by Friday.
We had 6 new sign ups since we left for Quebec. That brings us up the high 30's for sign ups. I can't wait to see the end results. It is going to be great!
Thanks for your patience!
