Okay folks, I'm about to haul the suitcase out and start thinking about what to pack.
What kind of weather are we going to be having up there? What should a thin-blooded Florida gal pack? Long sleeves, sweat shirts and slacks going to be the most likely? Will it still be warm enough for shorts and tank top up there?
Also, If I bring my little metal brush box, with brushes, no chance they'll take it away from me at customs for any weird reason eh? Don't want to chance losing them. Some have sentimental value.
Thinking about starting a panel to bring. Just trying to figure out transport of that though. Was hoping I could just bring enough for a carry on, but don't know if that will work. We will be staying longer than the meet to play tourists for a couple days.

Short & tee's if it's nice (likely), It's nice to have a sweater or sweatshirt handy for the evenings when it may get cooler. Light waterproof jacket if it rains (possible). Rain is not quite as comfortable as it is in Florida.

I wouldn't want to carry your paintkit onboard, security would pick it apart, but if you take it as checked baggage it should pose no problems. Likewise make sure your nailclippers are checked baggage, security likes to break the files off... I guess they're less dangerous that way.. but a 9" stainles steel ballpoint pen shaped like an ice pick is not a security concern.

Hi Nettie. This is Jill, still with Catherine after Cork. Fresh from many airport experiences, I can tell you that we had no trouble transporting brushes. Our bags were never checked, which is kinda scary. An older woman was stopped in front of us in London for having manicure scissors in her handbag, but I doubt she had an X-acto or anything. Panels weren't too hard to transport either. Cam Bortz had a kitchen-sink-sized one that he seemed to have no trouble with. John Jordan had at least three (lucky me, I got a sneak peek at the FKAB one!) including glass ones. As I remember, Canada can be chilly. Be sure to bring a sweatshirt or two and some jeans! We'll leave the bikini for Translab to model. Love- JILL

There was a time when an elderly retired signwriter gifted his kit to a man that had been his favorite apprentice. This gift had so many items that each had stories and memories in abundance. This man was travelling with a signlady from Florida, and as they tried to get the sign kit through security every item that they questioned as possibly flamable and questionable was thrown into the trash so they could board. Even brush oil and cans of varnish with collector value labels were discarded. So, please oil your tools and wrap them so thay can't be considered flamable and have a good time.
