Help! I'm being overwhelmed by the fonts I have loaded and spend far to much time sorting through them to find what I need. Is there anyone that can help me organize them in a more manageable fashion? I'm using Corel Draw and wondering if there is some way I can sort through them and catagorize them into groups - Basic block, script, caligraphic, fun etc. Has anyone got a reccommendation as to which fonts are the basic musts. Organization is not my strong point and it's costing me lots in lost time and frusteration! [Roll Eyes]

This is one of those times the Search Feature on this BB gets to show off it's stuff. Look in the top right of your screen for the "search" link. It's under the Letterville Auction icon. Click on it.

In the search box, type in the words font management. Select "Match all search terms above" and then ensure the Letterhead/Pinhead Forum is selected. Hit the Search button and you should be rewarded with a list of past posts on this subject.

Here is just one of the 9 links my own search returned.

If you're using truetype fonts there is a utility which works great called "The Font Thing". It's available at letterheadfonts.com & is a free download. With it you can organize fonts into any groups you can name. You also have a choice of either installing or loading them when you need them. Loading fonts doesn't permanently put them in your system though so remember to save them somehow before shutting down.

I second The Font Thing!

I've been using it for years. I can find, manage, organize my fonts rather easily. Install/uninstall by the click of a button.
People always ask me how I can find a font to quickly, and The Font Thing is the reason

Future Corporation's VinilMaster Pro sign software, as it advertises (among many other things), comes with a collection of 5000 fonts, a Font Detective, and a Font Manager.
I have yet to use it, but you may check with them.
