Is it ok to install vinyl over 1-Shot paint? what kind of 1-Shot should I use...I see they have a Lettering Enamel and also a Bulletin Color....How long should I wait after painting the sign blank before applying the vinyl to the painted surface? What would be the best painting method..roller or brush...the blanks will be multi-colored red, black, and yellow paint..the blanks will be 2x4 feet aluminum...
Also the dreaded question what would you charge fo a sign of this size....the backgrounds will be painted and the text will be a cast vinyl done on both side...the sign blank will be 2x4 feet.
Thanks for your time...

Rollar coat scuffed board with any color of either types paints, bullentin costs a little less, and is typically is used for backgrounds.
I use black foam rollars. Applt enough paint for coverage in the shade, the finish coat several time with a light touch in both directions, let set 5 minutes, then repeat until bubbles are gone.
drying time: 3 to 5 hours, 24hr before applying vinyl, you can go to our web site, go to our paint section and, then one shot, and read the product information. Letterhead Sign Supply

Though I'm not the expert at 1shot, I can tell you the vinyl will stick ok (its not latex) just read the label on the can and determine "cure time".
I always read about cure times but, depending on a lot of things like, weather, humidity, paint additives, did you use th reducer prescribed by manufacturer?, these things can alter the "cure time".
My own little "rule of thumb" is if you can smell the paint, its not cured !!

me thinks your gona have problems....ok #1 its alum. and it is prepainted right? hopefully! now with the size of this job i would lightly sand the alum with 320-360 grit water sandpaper. #2 i would get spray cans of either automotive paint or KRYLON for the background colors. #3 reason being your going to vinyl over the fresh paint. auto paint/krylon will get a better grip on the painted suface then the one shot will. #4 these paints will dry a lot fast and cure faster then one shot.#5 if you screw up the vinyl and have to peel it off, you gota better chance of not lifting the paint. just another option.....
