Every spring we start out saying we will try to take Sundays and holidays off, and somehow things come up and we get behind. Today is an absolutely gorgeous day and we are in the shop. Misery loves company --- is anyone else at work?

Not sure, but here in cottage country our "longs" are sacred. The August long is a huge festival called Harbourfest with many events. Murray had our boat in a vintage wooden boat parade yesterday and we stayed out to watch fireworks in the harbour (always most spectacular in the boat) with only about 700 other vessels floating around in the dark. Spectacular - everything from large sailboats, to cruisers to 12' aluminum fishing boats. Perfect day, perfect weather...and now I'm pouting to know most people get to do it all again today and I'm at work. But it could be worse and we could not be busy.

I'm working on a side construction detail for some channel letters on a suspended rail, which is probably my least favourite thing to be drawing on a holiday, but I said I would do it over the weekend. At least at home I get to crank the tunes and have a few brown pops!

Drove over to the Bedford Yacht Club and slapped on some graphics for the ZiGZag Boat.....Had a beer or two with the owner.

Got my paycheck and went to the local watering hole to talk to others about things needed..

Meet a old friend that I haven't seen in around 6 years because He move to Upper Canada. Had some great chat of what has been going on with a beer or two more.
Came home to BBQ some steaks and drank somemore beer..

Sat down and watched a movie and now sitting infront of the computer!

Did I work today?

Greetings!

If you call unloading the rv from a weekend camping trip of sun, campfire, pancakes outdoors with a lakefront view, I worked my tail off! For one hour! [Smile]

We finally got to use our rv for the first time this weekend and it was FABULOUS. 24' trailer. We roughed it, our campsite had no hookups! (har har)

For those familiar to my area, we found a very secluded wonderful spot at Deer Lake, just outside of Harrision Hot Springs. The boys went fishing, we went for a canoe ride, hiked up some mountain trails with the dog... it was wonderful to forget about work and just play.

Duncan, I so missed my Tim Horton's coffee! Can't wait to have one tomorrow AM!!! What's with these campsites, no coffee houses nearby?!?!?

Mike- Glad to hear you've taken the commission for the album cover - here's a partial list of numbers to be on the CD:
-Come Fly with Me
-Flying Down to Regina
-They Call the Wind Malicious
-Raindrops Keep Fallin In My Drink
-The Field Behind the Plow Wind
-This Land Was Our Land (now it's your land)
I plan on asking Alfred Toy to do the liner notes - backu[ bank includes Pat on tympanie, kelly on B Flat lightening rods, Curt on airhorn, and I fondly hope, yourself on baritone kazoo-
Yours Musically,
Mur

Yup, I worked the holiday here too! As a volunteer firefighter, we were out to 4 small brush fires this last week, so I had a lot of catching up to do. Actually got quite a bit done without the phone buggin me.

Still, ended the day with another fire call, beach fire. Just what the f@#k is wrong with people! Its dry as a popcorn fart out there! Theres a total burn ban in effect! People in other parts of the province are being evacuated and losing their homes behind them! Wake the f@#k up!

OK, rant mode off 8) going back to work until the next idiot decides its ok to throw his cigarette out the window of his car.............

Yeeaaay! My Alfie Toy moved to Letterville! Now we can visit lots. Come down to Holdfast some time and you can play with all my sign toys, Alf.
Maybe you can help me get this place organized, and oh yeah, I have a white picket fence that if your really nice I'll let you paint a little bit of it! And I have a great Alf eating tent you can borrow! [Wink] Seriously though you are welcome to stop down anytime and play at airbrushing or with the woodworking stuff etc. I promise not to truamatize you or laugh at you or nothing. Really I do! [Razz]
EDIT: Murray, how come I gotta hold the lightning rods? You trying to off me? [Eek!]

OK Kelly, you're on. I'm just a little phobic about tents right now, but like they say, I just have to get right back in the saddle. I'm taking the big plunge, but I know it's a calling, follow your bliss as Joseph Campbell would say, or...... is it follow your brush? [Smile]
