Armed Artists of America. I had a lady make a point on friday about being astounded that an "artist" could also be involved in firearms. There happened to be a zfk31/55 standing on it's bipod on a stripping table. So.................. Should being an "artist" preclude you from activities usually never assigned to the world of the "artist"? Is it an ego thing? Is it a "liberal" thing? Is it the unorthodox mixing of the gentle spirit of the dove with that of the hawk? Does anyone know whatever happened to Markie Post??
heh.......................

I think Freud was just obsessed with sex cause he wasn't gettin any and they didnt have shop vacs back then.
I always get asked if I have any weed.. never touched the stuff but when I say "nope I dont have any" the reaction is "Oh come on, I know you have some.. you're an artist!"

Wan't it Dr.Freud who said that people who fear guns are sexually repressed? no he said men who have to have guns......are incapable of gettin it up!!!!!!! and also they have penis envy. a big gun makes them feel like the are "larger" the they really are.

A few montha ago I went to New York to see the collection of Leonardo's sketches; everything from flying machines to military hardware to anatomy studies. Among them were some letters; one of them translated as a "job application" to the Duke of Milan: "I am proficient in the building of siege weapons and armaments, which will dismay your enemies, reduce their walled towns and castles, and make them obedient to Your Excellency's will. And in times of peace, I can also sculpt and paint."
Why would artistic ability be automatically associated with pacifism? Methinks that's another odd 20th century phenomenom.

Contrary to popular belief artists are not nessesarily:
passive promiscuous poor alcoholics drug users and the list goes on. (except for me of course! )
just kidding....
Here's a good example of an artist for the world:
Thomas Kinkaid
He has galleries all over the world with his name on them. He's a multi-millionaire. Obviously a very smart business man. A christian and dedicated family man. Also the only person in the world besides the Pope and the President that signs his name with ink that has his DNA embedded in it!

Yeah. I tried that but fainted after signing 2,000 prints.
Ok, folks. I started this with the intention of getting comments about the disparity of viewpoints concerning artists from outsiders, NOT to convince anyone to buy or use a firearm. If you're this old and haven't figured it out yet then I'm not going to preach to you. Based on a couple of comments I'd be afraid to live in the same county with them anyway.
Firearms aren't the only things that folklore/bleeding hearts have ascribed to being NOT in the assumed realm of the artistBut, just for s&g, artists should: Drink Wine Eat cheese Smoke dope Be temperamental Be undependable in love Be Prima Donas Produce artwork when they DAMNED WELL FEEL LIKE IT! Dress like slobs Be aloof (without just cause) Accept no opinions but their own ...and THAT'S how it IS. So everyone just SHUT UP!!!

Oh good grief! I see he's been a real sweetheart while Mom and I were gone. I can only tell you that things are changed now that we're home. He's now going to: Make the bed Have REAL dinners Take lunches to town Stay OFF the net all night long Quit stirring everything up and TAKE SHOWERS EVERY NIGHT!

Thank you, Dave! I didn't like being gone this time. I wish it had worked out, and I cried for a while and, then again, I wasn't ewxcpecting anything to work anyway. Mom and Dad will keep trying to make things better and that's all I can ask, no? But I'm happy. I'm home!
1. Is whiskey instead of wine ok? 2. Cheese is my favorite foodgroup. 3. Sorry, Winstons here 4. Is cranky & tempermental the same thing? 5. I don't have to have all these traits, do I? 6. I'm not a Prima Dona, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night! 7. I work the hours i want to work 8. Ok, so I pull my hair up under a hat & wear a tank top to paint. I guess some would consider that a slob. But, I do shower before meeting with a client. 9. I'm aloof with just cause. Just cause I want to be. 10. I do accept other opinions. I accept that other opinions are wrong.
How did I do? lol.

Drink Wine - At only $3 per box, why *wouldn't* you drink wine?!?!
Eat cheese - Only if it's found underneath a layer of sausage and mushrooms, but over a slab of red sauce and thick crust. OK ok, I like Romano grated over my spaghetti too, none of that parmesian crap!
Be temperamental - only during that time of the month
Be undependable in love - shop vacs.. need I say more?
Be Prima Donas - whatever!
Produce artwork when they DAMNED WELL FEEL LIKE IT! - well... duh.. like, when I feel like being paid!
Dress like slobs - I don't look any worse than anyone else in this town. In fact I'm wearing my Formal T-shirt right now.
Be aloof (without just cause) - I can control my aloofism, but I seem perfectly on top of things compared to the flakes (southern californians) around here.
Accept no opinions but their own - I'm always right and I've never lied to myself therefore I'm the only person I truly trust.
