I got a quote from Stouse for a full color job. But if a letterhead has a Sol-Jet or some other inkjet that can print on vinyl, then I'd like to see what you can do the job for.

I need a quote for full color print that is 10" x 16" and cut. My customer needs 2000.

Laura,

With a qty of 2000 and relativly small format that job is best done offset or silkscreen.
Inkjet or light solvent printer wont get you into the pricing you need to be in.

I got a quote from Stouse and (normally I can't find anyone to beat Stouse)I didn't think an offset could print on vinyl. Thats why I thought about inkjet. This job is for a plastic injection company. I know that they make stutters but I don't know what else. These pieces are full color stickers. Part of the full color will be of the outside of a beautiful house and yard. So I am assuming that these will be stuck on a product and then when the product is sold, the new customers will probably peel the stickers off. So I don't think longetivity is a problem.

Does anyone know if an HP with the outdoor inks can print on vinyl?

Laura,
I use an 8 color ROLAND inkjet. It'll print on vinyl, but without lamination, longevity could be a problem.
Using ROLAND's heavy vinyl, you'll get maybe 6 months outside, realistically. You're looking at $12 sq. ft. with this process. Then add the 'cutting' unless you do it!

Print on vinyl often with the hp3500 with the UV inks, however I don't consider it outdoor durable if unlaminated, no matter what the manufacturer claims. The HP or any other inkjet also require an expensive coated vinyl .. Still won't get you anywhere near the price you'll get from stouse..

2000, four color process, printed on vinyl would be $3475.00 and we'll throw in 500 free.

Actually, they are $1.93 each at 1500 and $1.39 each at 2500, so its actually cheaper to get 2500 than 2000. This price does not include freight. 2 weeks production time, seperations from a digital file are $196.00. These are UV cured inks for long durability. I would need to know if you want a removeable sticker or a permanent adhesive.

Scratch that idea. I think that Stouse came in at about $2400 for the 2000.
