All year I planned on it. But we're still trying to recover from a very poor late winter. It would be ashame for me not to go as Tomahawk is only an hour and a half drive from me, but if I go I'd want to take my wife and employee. I don't know if I can swing that at the moment.

As Mike says I will be fortunate enough to travel to Tomahawk to partake in an event that just cant be explained to the good people of Glasgow, and believe me I have tried. I look forward to a mystery tour of fun and frivoloty under the guidance of a certain Mr Meyer. Who needs to sit bored on a beach in Spain when you can enjoy yourself 24/7 with instant friends at a letterhead meet. "Here's tae us Whas like us Gie few Aye, an there aw deid"
Dave if it would help, we could find lodging for you--We do have a donated resort and perhaps there would be enough room to share. We are also looking at the possibility of host families. . .If this would make it affordable, please let us know. We would hate to see ANYONE miss what we have planned. It is going to be a great meet! I can't even wait.

Dave, this is great news! We are glad you are in. We will contact Curt Nelson, and pass on the info you gave Andy this A.M. The planning is so exciting right now, we do not know what we will do next year. We will have to find something big to plan. Your ideas with the resin, and then gilding the project sound so neat! I'm glad you mentioned to Andy you could do this! Just one more thing you will all learn here in Tomahawk. I bet there will be a couple more learning to swim as well! August 20th thru the 23rd are the days to be here! (stay longer if you like what you see, we welcome anyone here in Tomahawk)

Hello Friends! This is Andy from beautiful Tomahawk, WI. We have been really pouring it on in preparation for the Signcrafters Rendezvous! Harley Davidson is a great sponsor for this function and is graciously giving us tours of their new, state of the art paint,& manufacturing facility. By the buzz, those buddies of ours that own Harley-Davidson bikes will be riding in on them. This town lives & breathes Harley-Davidson and if you have one, this is the place to enjoy it! in September 30,000 plus bikers will rally here and see the extreme makeover of historical art that only "Letterheads" have the gumption to create! I am very pleased with the folks that will be on board to make this go! David Butler,Bob Behounek, Mike Meyer, Dave Correll, Rick Dolphens, Dave Gilsvik, Kurt Nelson, Tim Peterson, Carl Reeder, Barry Shelton, Mike Meyer, Mike "griz" Moore, Marv Renter, Barb & Maris Shilling, Jeremy Vecoli; all of which have agreed to share and execute their craft! Check it out, www.signcraftersrendezvous.info . The Midcoast Brothers of the Brush posse, for instance will be here. Chances are good they plan on havin' a historically good time. And Mike Meyer, this time he will have time to entertain you letterheads, something about kilts & skinny dippin'? Pack your brushes, and two pairs of grunds; Tomahawk is ready for us! Sincerely, Andy Goretski

Just received an e-mail from Mike Meyer who said there just may be a magic show here in Tomahawk during the SignCrafters Rendezvous. Do you think he would be able to make all the paint from our cloths disappear before we walk into the stores?

I'm hoping for a "Slappy Hooper" trick and he makes paint stick to air and pulls out his letter stretcher! Jane p.s. If you children don't own John Sandford's "Slappy Hooper" you are REALLY missing it!!

I'm signed up for Tomahawk, I'll be the absolute novice who is asking really basic questions of anyone who I see with a brush in their hand.
A hobbyist, I've been painting signs for about a year, and have lots to learn. At this point I'm probably doing everything wrong.....wrong brushes from the Crafts department, wrong paint from Fleet and Farm store, etc. But I'm learning and having fun.
I found Signcraft magazine about two months ago, and discovered Letterville from an ad in the magazine.
I'm getting some good tips already (like reusing my paint thinner.....) and have been searching through the archives on topics.
