I need to cover a 2" wide oval MDO picture frame shape in something that I can work into a faux flat carved stone look with outdoor durability. I tested stucco patch on a raw piece of wood and it can be made to look like I want and I couldn't whack it off after it had set up. I'm wondering if it'll stay on the smooth surface of the MDO and what to paint/seal it with after it sets up?

Lay down a mask for the area you want to paint as stone and poly brush out a base color. Grab a couple of tooth brushes and some thinner. Thin out a lighter shade (or white), hold the toothbush about 4 inches away and roll your thumb across the bristles. The paint will spatter randomly. Do the same with a darker shade (or black). Doing this over a medium grey makes a great "concrete" look. Use a liner brush to make any small cracks if needed.
Did this to my microwave a couple of days a go and here's the result...
Hope this helps. Rapid
