Like Avery has a huge line of office products like 3M they don't make just vinyl.

I wonder if there is any company that survives only on vinyl sales..... they might have an incentive to offer the best quality.

Joe, we've been using Avery's setup in the recording studio for 3 years now.

Well Ernie you just might want to take a look at Neschen or OraCal vinyls. I dont see them in the office supply arena. I do know for a fact that they are both very good vinyls.

Joe,

My father-in-law worked at the Avery-Dennison plant in Framingham, Massachusetts as an engineer for years back in the early eighties.

I'd actually been in a few times and saw all the different products they carried. They also made wrapping paper, Marks-A-Lot magic markers, and a whole array of stuff under subcontract for other companies.

There was a factory outlet there where you could pick up their products dirt cheap. I seem to remember hearing that the factory has since either been closed , moved or downscaled.
Office supply giant Staples' headquarters is now there I think.

Rapid

PS: Ernie, I can think of one way to make a living with only vinyl...flooring.

OP, CorelDRAW has templates built into it for CD labels, so you don't even need that package.. you just need the CD label paper.

When I got my first CD burner years ago, I bought one of those NEATO CD label application kits. It works great for getting your printed labels perfectly centered on your CD's.

Fred suggested I look at Neschen vinyl, that sounds good to me. We have been using Gerber, Oracal, Avery and 3M.

I have wondered about Neschen, one supplier keeps calling wanting us to order it. They were raving about the "German quality" of this stuff.

Diane got a small sample and said it was ok. But, I'm not sure that is an endorsement.... she doesn't even complain when letters fall off a banner within 2 hours. She just buys another roll, and assumes the adhesive was coated too thin or the vinyl roll was old, or she did something wrong.

I'd like to hear more about Neschen vinyl and who uses it. ANYONE?

Thanks Joe,
I just filled out the form on that link and will be receiving the product for a whopping total of $2.99 (shipping cost). I never printed CD labels before because I couldn't warm up to the prices Staples gets for their kits and blank refills.
