I am looking for someone to design and make 100 decals for me. It is for a mustang mania race the 23rd of August. I want a 64 or 65 mustang and then a 2003 mustang on it. Then I want it to say Mustang Mania ( Mustang in Big letters and than Mania smaller). Also In smaller letters, "Some Things Just Get Better With Age". I want bright colors including Flourscent (PinK, Orange, Lime green, Yellow) than some purple. If anyone is interested please email me your price including the artwork charge. I would like to have them in my hands no later than August 16th. I also am interested in 100 decals with our logo (size 4X8 or 4X10 inches) in a flor color. Again, I need these by the same date. Thank you to anyone that will help. I could design but I do not understand what a screen printer needs.

If you'd rather do the design, I can give you an idea of what things the printer would like to see from you.
First would be camera ready art, which would be at least a black and white copy of the outline, color seperations are always a plus. Most printers prefer spot color seperations to make screens. One color = one screen.
Keep in mind as you work up the design that most screen printers have set up fees. Most of this is for making the screens, so less color is less costly. You may want to consider sticking 2 or three colors.
You might want to contact a few local textile screen printers and inquie what services they have available. Many have art departments that can design, do your color seperations and assist you in other aspects.
Having been in the t-shirt biz for years as a production person, a color print of the design always helps the folks in production get the colors right, too.

The nearest screenprinter is at least 1 hour away. I live in the boonies. I have even thought about getting the equipment but i really don't have the room. I have an Edge and then I do dyesub but I just can't comprehend the sceenprint concept. I have all kinds of clipart and when I designed a shirt before I was told I used too much detail. When you design a shirt, where do you get your pictures from and what format do you use. I have CorelDraw9 and I input into it but I have trouble with the colors and fades when trying to add color to the clipart. I have bought all the books I can find on doing t-shirts but I can't find one on designing for the screenprinter. Any suggestions on reading material? After THE BIG SHOW doing away with Charlotte this year, I can't get to a trade show. Charlotte NC is the closest and it was 2 hours away.
If you can setup a file for printing on the Edge, you can do the same for screen printing. The principles are exactly the same. In fact, you create the file in Omega if that is easier for you.
Out of curiosity, is there a reason why you don't print the decals on your Edge?

Yes Glenn, I'm afraid there is. I don't understand enough about Corel Draw to design the decal. I design a lot of small decals and such but I just haven't learned to do all the combining of the pictures and doing away with the cut lines in corel draw. If I hadn't been so busy this year(I'm not complaining), then maybe I could have taken the time to teach myself Glenn. As you know, I can't work but about 3 or 4 hours a day and only 3 or 4 days a week so that is why I need a good book to teach me how. I just can't find one that will teach me the basic design concept. Glenn I need the master(you ) to do a video.

Hey Glenn. I check on the first website you told me about the the tutorials were great. I accurately understood them. I'm going to order one of them and thanks a bunch. I can set anything up up in GA (don't fuss) that I want and I do need to add the Omega software. HO says they will walk me though it and I must do it. I need to get a good backup in case something happens. I have a setup to backup everything and I will do it this week. Check you later Glenn and thanks.

This has more to do with the individual screenprinters setup (equipment, abilities) than what the medium can produce. I print tons of t-shirts but recently designed myself beyond my own production capabilities. So I farmed out the printing to someone who has the right set up (Glenn) "I" couldn't have pulled off that detail (which the web pic. doesn't do justice) ... it's the user not the medium.
I don't know what the quantity to profit ratio/cutoff is between edge vs. screen.
