I need some expert help with setting up a Graphtec CE2000-60 vinyl cutter with Signlab Shortcut ES2 software. I though everything was OK but when I go to cut, everything slows down to a snail's pace. Could someone contact me as to how to sort this out.

Thanks

I don't know much about it, but I'll bump this up to keep it in view.
Also I know Howard is always available to help with Graphtec questions, so untill he stumbles on this post, I would suggest locating the "merchant" page & seeing if Graphtec provides an email address that may go to Howard.

I can't speak for using setting up with Signlab, but setting up my CE4100-130 was as easy as loading the print driver, I cut directly from Coreldraw.

Edit... Ooops .. it's an FC4100-130

Sounds like a port related issue.
Are you cutting serial or parallel?
If parallel, do you have any Printers on the same port. Some Windows Printer drivers monitor all activity to a particular port and slow down if not block any data to the port.

Also If parallel, go to Plotter Setup and check if there is a checkbox that says DOS. If there is, put a checkmark in it and try again.
If there is no checkbox, then you may want to edit your ES graphtec driver to add a line.
Look for a file via notepad called GRCE2000.ini
in your Signlab directory. Edit the file and remove the semicolon in front of the ;Use Dos DEvice=1 line in the Port Setup section and try cutting again.

If serial, do you have a fax/modem or other device on the same prot or IRQ. Hard to diagnose.

I would strongly recommend you try a USB to serial cable. They plug into a USB port on the computer and connect to a serial device like a cutter. The cable comes with a driver that installs as the next available com port, eg COM3:
These cables have all the advantages of USB, are bidirectional, and have NONE of the seial port BASE address/IRQ issues or Parallel port mode/printer driver conflict issues.
