Help...I am trying to attach a pvc piece to the face of a pcv sign for a 3d look. It won't bond!! And, to top it off, I got some purple primer on the face of the sign, (an exposed area). It's supposed to go today. HELP PLEASE!

Try M.E.K. you can find it at the local paint store. I had a fellow sign guy tell me this a while back. I did a test piece and it worked. I have not tested it long term though.

I've used PVC cement before(for plumbing). It worked for me. Probably won't stick to the primer though. You'll have to scrape that off underneath the letter/s to make it stick.

If it's a single faced sign, use some self-tapping sheet metal screws from the back. Put clearance holes on the main panel, then match drill pilot holes in the sub panel. Tape the sub panel in place while you match drill it.

Wanna give it a REALLY cool look?? Assemble the PVC frame with actual mitered corners, but don't join them yet. THEN>>>>> then rout a channel down the inside of each piece, using a bit of the same width as the panel thickness. Now join 3 sides with PVC cement, let them dry, slide the panel into the channels and bond the fourth side as above. Single or double sided, it looks VERy cool.

If Flush Mount: Seeing the glues set off fast, you need to wet both surfaces then apply the panels. the glue I use(weldon 66) is designed for pvc and come clear.
If Flush Mount: If you havent any glue you may use double back tape, and 100% clear silicone
If Raised: You might want to make angle brackets out of 1/8 pvc, use a heat gun to bend angle or C clips. then use a high strength double tack banner tape to hold clips in position, followed by the correct size of screw.
Clean up of purple: make a tester on a scrap picce of pvc. the try a light amount of Laquer thinner, and work fast, confining yourself to wiping the stain inwards onto itself. the tester will help you see the results.
Good Luck
