Our ISP intercepted and email, supposedly from "support at microsoft dot com" today with a potential virus. "installer.exe". Anyone else getting anything like this. Plus, we got an email from ebay stating that we were being suspended for identity fraud. they wanted all of our bank account info so they could "verify" us. unfortunately, the email was from ebay@safeharbor .com. Sorry pal, you're not fooling this old dog into that one. Just thought I'd share.... [Wink] Watch your backs people, the criminals are getting smarter and smarter. I just hope not many people are falling for these scams.

Actually there *is* a virus from Microsoft. It's called "Windows" and it's the most widespread "Backdoor trojan" on the planet, full of security holes and allowing anyone access to your machine if ya aren't careful. [Smile]

There's lots of ebay scams doin on.. one of them even asking for passwords so your account can be validated... LOL.

Ya, I heard the news about Microsoft's problems on the news this morning. Every operating system to date is affected by this apparent back door that hackers can exploit.
I personally think it's a hole that Microsoft deliberately put into their programs so they can exploit your personal data. Unfortunately someone else found out about it.

Paranoid but havin' fun,

Checkers

Yes there is a back door into Microsoft OS's. It was allegadly put there for security issues and the NSC and has the key.
This was discussed on many softeware boards as to why it is there.

There was much speculation when the Chinese had so many problems with their Internet systems during the Orion P3 spy plane incident.

It seems that they could not keep hackers from shutting down their networks. Computer wars are happening.
