I have been lurking for a few weeks here and this is my first post. I'm an airbrusher but, real curious about vinyl. I know ya'll will hate this question but..... can someone direct me to place that gives prices and specs on plotters and maybe some info on the process as a whole. I've read the "step by steps" and appreciate any response for such a basic and broad question.

you should be able to find a lot of vinyl signage info using the "search" button at the top of the page.
There are several sources for plotter price & specs. You might want to check our merchants page first.
Graphtec is a sponsor. I have one of their plotters & highly reccommend them. Howard is always nearby on this forum with questions about Graphtec plotters.
Roland is another popular brand that gets a lot of praise here because of various cutting software alternatives that can save thousands compared to some of the sign-specific sign design programs.

to the left here is MEMBER DATA BASE,(on the 1st letterhead page not this one) go in there and look for someone near your area. go visit them and see 1st hand. iam sure they will give you the grand tour and answer most of your questions.....and if you stand a round long enough, iam sure they will make use of an extra pair of hands!!!!!hehehehehehe

Actually I visited Austin last December & I inquired if anyone here knew of a close by shop to visit. At that time no replies came up for anyone very close. I did get some invitations for other Texas towns, but my brief stay & the various commitments I already had didn't allow that.
Appreciate the info on such a boring question. Apparently there are not very many Letterheads in my area but, I am gonna visit some local shops. Also, the equipment doesn't seem too far out of reach so, I'll hang around awhile, read and try to edumucate myself.

I don't know much about the equipment you asked about but 3 guys do that are fairly close to you (by Texas standards anyway). Look up John Oldham in Waco, Raymond Chapman in Temple, or Robert Beverly in Arlington and I'm know they'll be able to get you the info you're loking for. Meanwhile, welcome to Letterville!! Im glad to see you posting here and don't ever hesitate to ask a question because one of the main reasons for Letterheads is to share whatever knowledge we have. Besides that, as you'll soon find out, we ALL ask a lot of questions around here!
