Looks like I'll be voting for the winner!

Be a shame to spend all that federal money on moving expenses every four years anyway.

Oh, goodie! A topic with a potential for excitement - I sense a pre-emptive delete in the wind...

Strange - I also got Dennis on top -- and GWB on the bottom. Who'd'a guessed?

I could use a couple hundred of those bumper stickers Myra [Wink] Sad isn't it that there's more digust over private consenting sex than outright lies that cost innocent lives and money. As Jeff said the other morning..."wonder if they want some Freedom Fries with that Crow?"
OBTW...Dennis came out on top for me also...the shrub at the bottom.

To the anti bush gang.. What about the thousands of innocent ppl that were toruted daily, and the thousands more that were killed by saddam??? What about all those thousands of kids that died of malnutritian all the while Saddam was stacking his 900 million.
What about the thousands of rapes of little girls and murdures in Kuwait. What about the hundreds of newborn babies thrown out of their hospitol beds that later died?
Saddam Is the weapon of mass destruction.
Which is worse? Not doing anything or knowing it is happening and allowing it to continue?

Peace..

Hey Curtis, here is another "what about".
What about the Constitution.
Or as Joe Sobran says, the Constitution poses no threat to our present form of government.

Anyways, this Mr. Newman fellow looks pretty good over the slim pickins' we have had offered the last 15 years or so.

"we have intelligence from the british that sadam is trying to buy uranium from africa." was also a LIE!!!!!!! no one died for, or was put in harms way for the 1st lie......now which one should be more serious, and how many more times have we been LIED TO ?????????? as we all know all those in politics....LIE.....but to LIE AND COST AMERICAN LIFES.....this is unforgivable....under any circumstances. a LIE is a LIE ....but a republican can do it and its for NATIONAL SECURITY? the republicans set the bar....now lets see how they deal with one if their own doing IT!!!!

Yes, I know fully that nothing other than jest is intended when gentle fun was poked at OP for posting his link, and what I say about it is truly not intended as a personal comment directed at Ray......
There is, however, a non-humorous flip side of this very common thing to do.....

To point the finger at the messenger eliminates examining the message and prevents thought and the forming of an opinion about what is the issue. It allows us a little more time to stay asleep in the caboose of what I pray is not a runaway train re-inventing the constitution.

It's easier to laugh at a messenger than to take the time and think about what it means to have a President out of who's mouth consistently falls incoherent, nonsensical and ridiculous stuff; a man who in other countries is tolerated because of his power but is openly called an incompetent and worse. What not looking at the proof of this signifies is also worse, which is that we don't want to see it, at least not yet.

I would just love to address the issues raised in Curtis'lineup of atrocities committed in Iraq... but it would only lead to a back and forth of various opinions about oftentimes not very thoroughly examined facts; no points would be acceptably proven and then it all goes down the drain in being deleted.
I nevertheless think that the long long post about everyone's thoughts and justifications expressed here before "the War" in Iraq, would actually be more than a bit interesting to read at this point.

I know this is just a waste of my time. I wish I were less patriotic, and less concerned, it surely would be easier on me than to feel it is my duty to shake a few people's reveries. Unfortunately in the spirit of what Curtis said about
"not doing anything and knowing it is happening"
I think it is my duty to at least stand up and say that there are many perfectly sane people out here who think we are not being served well by this administration.
I hope this will be proven in the next election.

And Don: I have friends who now call their Florida room the California room.
Go figure.

Rick, I think there was a time that it did matter, but that time is now gone. Honour, dignity and family values are no longer extant in politics. We are led by deceit, outright knowing liars and money.
I wish I knew how to post a song. Remember the CDs you got from Rosemary when you were in the hospital? The CD with the originals by Lat and Rosemary have a song called "Give It Back".
I'm not sure what posessed the kids to write that one, but its always seemed to be the epitome of the innocent's view of the adult world of leaders.
The more time that passes just convinces me that Rosemary and Lat had a truly amazing insight into things yet to come at the time they wrote it.
There are bad times coming for those of us who still believe that our forefathers forsaw these things. None of it is new. Its simply an historical repetition of past cycles of societal events leading to the downfall of yet another well-intentioned civilization. Nothing new, but the family units had better be prepared to take care of their own.

Lots of people have had these insights Pierre. As soon as the ink was dry on the Constitution then the amendments things were devolving.
I really don't see a lot of this as a political argument, but a cultural and spiritual decline that all civilizations go through.
Anyone who thinks changing the occupant in any political position will change things is deceiving themselves.

Unfortunately, family units pulling into themselves will not solve the problem. This is a problem of civilization and how to have a good and just society. Not that striving for a good family unit is wrong or misguided, they are the foundations, but if a majority don't follow suit you can't restore a nation.

Rick, your question was obviously rhetorical. Poltical solutions are not solutions at all.

Economic democracy certainly is accellerating toward its demise. I would like to see a political democracy tried someday though. Our society seems determined to destroy the family unit. This seems like it's getting far from the subject of signs, which holds us in common here. So, I'm voting for Shortreed!

Ok. I'll back that, assuming that Rick is VP, head of the FED Reserve, Speaker of the House and Head of the IRS.
That should solve the whole flamin' mess.

Myra, DON'T stop saying what you think. At least you can live with yourself, knowing you tried.

I took the quiz, it said 100% Libertarian. Well what do you know. I had this thought way back in my mind that I should think about voting Libertarian. In fact, I only vote republican because I'm voting AGAINST the democrat.

As if this thread wasn't combustible enough, consider the real cause of what's made things unravel. I say bad science. The more I study it, the more I'm convinced. But oh well, I have this wierd theory, strictly speculation, that God is letting man try every conceivable form of government on his own, with the aforementioned consistent results.
