Well, I hate to say it but Penny & I have decided to sell our current home & move.
In the over 11 years we have lived here the nieghborhood has gone down hill every year. When we moved here it was mostly older people and a quiet little area that was great. Since that time most home owners have passed away, moved into a nursing home or just moved. Many of the homes have been bought by investors who do little to keep them up and just rely on them as rental income.
My Dad built a new house last year and has had his condo for sale since that time. Over the weekend he made us an offer that is to hard to turn down. Last night Penny & I made up our minds.
The condo is in a lot higher priced subdivision here. The average price of the homes is over 150,000 and the average price of the condo's are in the high 90's.
The main downfall for me is no garage or even a yard barn. Just a small shed about the size of a medium closet. I have made arrangments with my mother in law to move my 8x12 workshop to her back yard, but this will be very inconvienent(sp?). It is also a 2 story, so this will play on Penny and my knee's.
I hate to move after all the work we have put into our home, but hopefully it will help it sell faster. This is not just because of the burglary last week, but rather the last straw so to speak.
Anyone not doing anything on Sat. Aug 2nd, that is moving day for the big stuff. We are going to start painting the condo this weekend, at least Penny will, with my hand I will be a helper.
Thanks for listening...

Sorry to hear of all you problems. Good luck with the move. One good thing is that you will find things that you didn't know you had. The bad thing is that you will find things you didn't know you had.
Troy, I know that you must think that a black cloud is following you around, but things have a way of working out for the best. Keep the faith.

If you want to have fun, have your friends pack your house. When you get to the condo & start unpacking, it's like Christmas. You'll find all kinds of neat stuff!!! And guess what, it's the exact one you would have bought!
Sorry to hear about all this. Some people here are living sitcoms, unfortunately yours & Pierre's families are living soap operas. I'm crossing my fingers for a program change for you guys.

We too are selling our place. Since we don't run the shop from the basement any more, It's really too much space for us. We are moving to town a few blocks from the shop, and closer to my folks.

I hope to be healed up, and moving around again by Aug. 2. If so, I will bring the trailer over and give you a hand. If not, I still might bring the trailer, and let someone else furnish the hands. Right now I am just trying to get in good enough shape to drive to Illinois tomorrow.

Troy, perhaps this is all for the best. With the neighborhood going to pot, who knows what influence or bad circumstance loomed in the future for your children. A better neighborhood to raise them in is a blessing. Not that higher income folks neccisarily have better morals than the less fortunate, but at least it sounds safer. Good luck and happy healing!
