Just got done watching & taping Monster Garage. sweet job. Wish you would've got more time. I was on phone with my hubby, made him turn it on & his exact wording was "that paint job is worth more than the whole car".

They'd be all repeats Dave. The shows are single episodes.
Can anyone that saw it tell me if the show was called Wild West Show? If that's the one, we don't get to see it 'til the beginning of September up here!

I am really disappointed at the amount of time they showed Mike's work. Damn shame. It did look cool though...

I sat down to watch the show and it was the popping wheelly ambulance which was pretty cool too. They never give much air time to the paint guys. Thats the best part of the show.
Damn Terry, you are saying i have to wait to September to see Mike.

hey CJ you know so much, you even knew who I meant by "Mr. know-it-all" , & by your email you even knew which other topics you posted on that encouraged my remark. I won't quote your email to the "know-nothings" here on the BB, but I will reply to it here.
They say ignorance is bliss. I guess the ignorance of not knowing everybody cool, makes all of us "know-nothings" able to kill time socializing on the bb in an un-pretentious way, attempting to have the occassional opinion, maybe learn a little from our "elders" & generally keep a low profile blending in with other "know-nothings"
You on the other hand, may be one of the taller trees in the forest, having "been-there, done-that" side by side with some of the modern day heroes of our trade. A teacher of mine once said "the tallest trees, take the most breeze" & IMO there is a responsibility that goes with that (weather you choose to accept it or not) & I won't bore you with tryin' to articulate what that responsibility may be, because I "know-nothing" about it, but I don't think you care to carry the burden (at least not publically) of being an "elder" in this trade.
& Why should you? No reason! But you tend to be a blunt outspoken dissenting voice of ridicule in every topic that you may hold some wisdom in. To me that reeks of egotistical arrogance. I know I can be quite an ashole at times & sad to say, I've made plenty of scathing remarks that inflate my own egotistical arrogance at someone elses expense on this board. IMO, so have you. Many times!I'm sure you are aware of it & don't need me commenting.
Us know-nothings that don't have your experiences are not all idiots either. Your grand, chest-beating, entrance into so many threads to cast a few half-baked pearls off your crown of acomplishments, only to back out again, not needing to stoop to the level of enlightening the know-nothings is getting pretty damn old for me not to comment.
I wonder how many people watching that are not painters said "hey I can paint that good if I get a projector and put the image there. All I have to do is stay in the lines." Ha,ha I would love to see them try. Again nice job Mike.

I too was disappointed at the ammount of airtime they gave to the best part of the car. It reminded me of my past dealings with race car people...their philosophy was " we've spent too much on everything else, can you make this sheetmetal look like a million bucks, but we can only pay you $150"... I have to agree that the paint job was worth more than the whole car...Great job Mike!

I watched the 1a.m. rerun last night. Having seen all of the project shows, I thought Mike got more airtime than most of the painters. Still not enough, granted, but they did show more of the process. I wish they would do a walk around with the camera after the paint job is finished to show the small details that the painters work hard to accomplish.
Mike, I thought your paint job looked fantastic. I have seen your stuff in magazines and now on t.v., but I would really love to see something in person. I hope to meet you at a meet sometime.

I gotta agree with Donald, a walk around of the paint job would have been super. I'm sure there was all sorts of trick stuff in there. Donald, if you ever get to watch Mike in action you're in for a real treat. He's a heck of a nice guy and willing to share just about anything. The amazing part is watching him pull all this super detailed work out of his head........no references, AMAZING!!!!.
As for the show itself, yea , we have two super talents here, Kenny Youngblood and Mike and they get their two minutes of fame while we watch all the other "experts" screw up. Ooops, broke a fitting, ooops broke a cable. Gee the balljoint broke, imagine that, the flippin car is thirty years old,............... put those wire wheels on it though.
I thought the cowboys, however , were pretty impressive

Mike, that was an awesome looking rig and I think your work did deserved more attention by the producers. I guess like race cars, not enough people realize how much a good paint scheme is the exclamation point on a project like that one. You gave that one a personality that fit the project.
Great job and thanks for letting us all sare in the event with you. Rapid

Hi guys, thanks for all the support! it WAS fun and well worth the time spent in Long Beach working on the two vehicles ( I did jesse's truck with my fire while I was there) some really good things have come out of it so it was worth being on there for such a short time. it's amazing how 7 hours can be compressed into a few minutes of air time!!!!! Oh well, that's show biz. I'm sure I'll be called back on another Monster Garage gig.
30 Million Viewers X 4 showings in 5 time zones... think about the possible contacts, if only 1% check out my website and contact me for work......HHHMMMMMM?? it could be great!
oh by the way, check out my new website, it's up and running right now, we're still working on it and are gonna makesome major changes on it and add all new pics soon. I'll post a few pics of the Monster rig on there too. Mike

I watched it last night. Great job Mike! But then I knew it wouldn't be anything but great.
The funniest thing was watching mike paint with his mouth shut For those of you who haven't met him, his wit is almost as good as his painting.
I really laughed at these guys thinking that a real bull rider would not be able to stay on that thing for 8 seconds. With no spinning motion or real twists it was a piece of cake for a good rider.
