Now we're having some feed problems. We have it set to conserve foil, and when we send a job to print, sometimes it will print the filename/target line, stop, then 'squeal' before moving on to print the actual job. This throws the registration right out the window.
We found that unclicking the conserve foil option eliminated this, but of course, the foil runs continuously in this mode, whether it's printing or not. Not too cost effective.
The 'squeal' isn't high pitched at all, sounds like a belt slipping at low speed.
Has anyone run into this issue with the edge 2?
We called 'service'...they seem to be as baffled as we are at this point..
Regardless, when we resolve this, we will let you know.

Sounds like a clutch replacement may be needed. Using the Conserve Foil feature would cause the foil feed clutch to engage and disengage more often than with it turned off.

Has anyone else noticed that whatever problem that you are experiencing will be one that Gerber tech has never heard of? I believe that they might not be as forthcoming as they could. After talking to techserv several times about the blade chattering on my enV375- I sent it in and when returned- the same problem (to a lesser extent) was present. At that time they admitted that they even had a name for the condition- and that it could not be completely eliminated. This after telling me several times that they had no idea what I was talking about. Gerber 'stock' at my house has taken a dive. Gene

Yes, I have noticed that Gerber is seems blissfully ignorant of anything resembling less than optimum performance.
I think a better lie would be to say 'Oh, yes, there was a service bulletin issued last month about that problem. We've since resolved it. You haven't had a call from your area technician yet?'
I mean, if they HAVE to fib, at least tell us something a bit reassuring.
Our tech told us that a service bulletin has been issued by himself regarding this problem, and they are awaiting a response from Gerber.
