Well it's official after months of speculation and rumors it's been confirmed..
Selinsgrove Speedway has new promoters and will open again. They've built a 1/5 mile oval inside of the 1/2 mile for micro's and go-karts on Fridays and Saturdays will be thunders, late models, and 358 sprints. They dropped off a '98 Monte Carlo yesterday for the pace car and will have an order of fense signs soon..the race show a the local mall starts on the 20th so I better get off the board and get some work done.

Always good to hear of an old track surviving. Never made it to either of the "groves", but back when I did a lot of work on WOO cars ( B.C. ) I always asked the drivers what their favorite track in the country was, suprisingly, since it doesn't get the ink like Williams Grove, Knoxville or Eldora does, Selinsgrove was mentioned by more than one driver
We have two tracks within twenty minutes of here...........lack of sensible rules forces us to race at tracks 90 miles away.

You hit it George..lack of sensible rules and inforcement of the rules they had made me cut my car up three years ago and quit...
We used to run asphalt at Evergreen Speedway near Hazleton Pa. about an hour away but when it shut down in 96 we switched and ran dirt at Selinsgrove one year..long enough to figure out they weren't going to enforce the rules and change them at the drop of a hat.
I hope it's different this time but I'm still not going to build a new race car, my son may go racing again and I'll support that but I'm kicking back with my music now and don't want to change that. Williamsgrove is about an hour away I go to watch sometimes..we sponsor a sprinter there..the owner has a trucking company that's feeds me about two new rigs a month so it's worth it to sponsor.
