Hello,

I've seen a Chroma 24 on eBay that's for now a good price. I have a Mac and I don't know if I need a RIP. Could you give me some guidance?

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

I've had 2 Cromas. I didn't have a rip at all on the first one and it printed fine. I had the "croma rip" with the second one and didn't like using it so I didn't. I use pc's though....a mac may be different.

If I was you I would try to pick up a printer that's a little faster......they print very slow.

That's my 2 cents....FWIW

You don't need a RIP but if you are going to do posters or large stuff, it will take forever to send it to the printer. At least it does with a PC. A good RIP will also make the colors more vibrant.
