A while back someone posted that Radio Shack had small microscopes that were idea for checking out cutter blades. Well, I went out and bought one yesterday...$14.99 Cdn.
It really DOES let you have a good look at the blades (60-100% magnification)
Now all I have to do is buy a new blade so that I have a point of reference!!!
Once I determine which of my multitude of blades are really in bad shape I will send em out for re-sharpening and try that option for a change.

That is smart. Point well taken.
This is one step closer to sharpening them myself. Cheap guy #2 spends an hour sharpening a blade that someone else would do for $4. But hey four bucks saved is four bucks!

Dave, I have been sending my blades out to be resharpened for several years now. I have been very pleased with the results. If you are interested in a name and number let me know. I sent some out Wed. of this week, and they will back by the end of next week.
