Several weeks ago John Lennig posted here asking about the once available adjustable lettering stools. I have two of these stools that I have been using almost daily for more years than I care to remember. I take one almost every time I leave the shop. I found that it is a handy thing to carry my maul stick and yard stick!

Over the years I have made two small modifications to my stools which improve the functionality and life span of this marvelous contraption.

After reading John's post, I looked in the shop and found a new, still in the box, stool. I am in the process of using this to produce working drawings, a materials list and assembly instructions so anyone can build one. Most materials can be found in any shop or hardware store.

In an effort to repay everyone on this BB for being the source of knowledge you have, I am going to make these available for the asking to anyone requesting them. Please e-mail me directly and when they are completed, I will send them via e-mail (PDF file) to you.

...for christmas a coupl'a years ago my daughter got me this great littl stool....with wheels mounted to a round tool tray an' a round cushion seat. The "pipe" adjusted up or down by filling or backfilling with "BB's" in the pipe...turned upside down the pipe released all the bbs in the top part so the stool could be sat on at it lowest point. Turned again you 'cud let as much fill in there to get it to be taller.....ANYWAY...one day the pipe broke an' bbs rolled everywhere...I fixed it fer a while but...... [Roll Eyes] well, I'd luv to have yer recipe fer a new, mo' better one........Thanx!
