Hi everyone... any suggestions of what to do with all the left over backing paper and application paper ( sometimes in small bits ) after a job, I feel un-envirionmental if I throw it out.

I saw sum pics in signcraft...a long time ago 'bout some guy who made "dinosaurs" an' stuff with weed trash! Any one kno' who that was? My kids an' other kids at schools love the scrap pieces of vinyl (that pile up) for crafts and art class. I use or cut-up to useable portions the paper backing off vinyl for notes an quick thumb nails etc. My lil' one loves to draw, color an' paint on it, 'specially the bigger pieces, and that saves my good stuff. If I have something I hand-cut that's goin' on with comp. cut, I save a peice of the masking off the comp.cut and use it on my hand-cut piece....LOL...then ag'in I am a little "nitty"...'cuz I'll use paper towels 'til they turn hard...I hang 'em over the garb. can 'til they are unable to "drape" or finally fall apart.....I scrape paint skin b'for I trash it and thin the last of the oneshot 'til I get every last possible drop. Other confessions of a thrift-freak: I turn the bottle upside down for the last possible drop of shampoo, dish liquid, BBQ sauce, etc...an' then run a lil' water in it to get anything still hidin'.....make extra sure I get my money's worth! I shake the gas nozzle when I pump gas to get ALL my petro in there...oh man...there is more but, hey Mom's, c'mon! You kno' how to be too thrifty too!

if you got to send double face tape to your costumer, vynil backing is perfect and and if you have to mask fresh dry paint to do something else on it used transfert tape is not so bad bécause less sticky..........

Thanks for the replies everyone, I don't think I'm ready for the dinasaur bit yet, but I'll cut up some of the bigger sheets of backing and send them off to school with my kids. I've used the backing paper as masking for large areas and vehicle windows, shiny side down, and someone suggested that shiny side up it makes a good screen printing stencil. and I really like the masking for fresh paint idea, thanks Steven, I'll be using that within days, paint's real slow setting here once it starts raining, it's like it never stops, think I might go and fashion a raincoat out of some of that left over application tape...
