They build those things about fifty miles up the road from here. I've known the guy that builds the Boss Hoss bikes for about fifteen years. He is definatelty the most ingenious human being I've ever met. He's a former racer and in the eighties built a 3/8 mile dirt track. This place was the raciest track I've ever been to and I've been to a bunch. Instead of wrecker they used V-6 powered rubber tired forklifts he converted to snatch cars off the race track. I've never seen another race track clear cars faster than that place. He's also built some really unique airplanes. and the bikes...yes they are AWESOME! To watch one do a burn out is unbelievable and the sound is sweet

Timing is everything. Last Saturday I saw a Boss for the very first time in the living flesh. Guy pulled up to me while I was taking a break from riding my bike at a Hess station.
I looked at the bike and could not believe my eyes. It had a frigg'n car engine in it. Of course the guy riding it really needed it cuz he must have weighed in at 350lbs easily.
What was really cool though was the trick "Chris Cruise" paint job on it. The airbrush work alone had to be worth $3k...
And as a matter of fact, the guy left and cranked the throttle. Burned some expensive rubber on that back tire.
I'd still run him though on my bike on a windy twisty road. I cant see a bike with that much weight being able to handle that well. He said the bike weighed close to 1200 lbs...I'd hate to have to pick it up if it ever fell over.

I had a friend (now deceased) that owned a couple of those monsters. They have only two gears, forward and reverse. Believe me, they will smoke the rear tire. They are quite well balanced and handle surprisingly well. My friend died in a motorcycle accident, but he was riding a big Honda at the time. One awesome machine, to say the least!
