Can anyone tell me the complications and/or process of getting sheet material shipped to you via a freight truck?
I want to have access to dibond in full 4'x 8' sheets. Harbor Sales seems to be the closest (I live in upstate NY), however, the site states it has to be shipped "ICC Common Carrier" as it is too big for UPS.
Can anyone tell me the costs associated for shipping like this? And how many sheets usually justifies shipping with this type of carrier?
I haven't a clue...
Thanks. Randy

Give Harbor a call in the morning. I was referred to them last night. Called this morning to request a catalog, then this afternoon to order. I spoke with some very nice people. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I hope I found my choice supplier.

I order my Dibond and Alumalite from Midwest Sign Supply. They have offices all over the country. When I order $300 or more in supplies they give me free freight. I just had 5 sheets of 5' x 10' alumalite and 1 4x8 alumalite come overnight without a mark on it.
One time I had freight damage and the sheets were replaced without a problem.
Oops, just checked. Looks like all their offices are west and south of Milwuakee. But I'd still call them. You might just have to order a little more for them to ship free to NY.
Chris, Milwuakee may be an option for you if Harbour Freight doesn't work out.

Dave, as you, I also use Midwest and have been pretty happy with them. At $300, I'm envious of your break-point for them to provide free freight. We must order a minimum of $750 for being in Alaska. I would guess that Doug Allen is in a similar situation in Hawaii. No complaints about service so far... - Steve I
