We have a Summa DC2 thermal printer and have had little success finding a quality white reflective vinyl that we can print on. We have tried the offerings from Avery and Oracal. We have located a 3M 12 month film that we can print on, but want a quality film as we only do fleet graphics subject to chemical and pressure washes. Summa has been difficult to work with stating that they only approve of their white 3M material, anything else will likely ruin the head, thus they void the warranty at that point. We have successfully printed on 3M 220 color vinyls and know there has to be something else out there as Summa used to offer a 3M reflective product. [Confused] Also is there a source for the ribbons besides Summa?

do they (Summa) offer a clear vinyl you could apply over reflective? I realize that is an extra expense in labor & material but just wondered if that option existed for you. Is a great deal of your fleet work reflective? You could sub the reflective work to someone with an Edge, but I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear, & of course, in that case there would be the 11.8" panel limitation

I've printed on both 580 and 680 3M reflectives with my PC-60 with good results. In a pinch, I've printed on transparent and applied it to engineer grade Scotchlite when the print going to lay flat (no rivits or curves(.

With thermal printing, your talking around 3 years so you really don't need a 7-10 year reflective.

Here is a link for 680 at Gregory . Notice on the top it say's Gerber Edge compatible.
