Can I go 72 hours @ 60 degrees before clearing without sanding? I'm leaving the heat off of the fresh paint, but have used low temp. reducer. I have shot a fade that I don't want to sand into. I won't have clear before Thurs afternoon unless I go 100 miles for it or find some locally. Thanx, Bronzeo

Gonna depend on what you are clearing over and what clear you are using. If it's all automotive stuff the paint store will have the info. Basecoats should be good anytime, most urethanes won't go more than 12-24 hrs, enamels should be OK at 72

Thanx again George, its one-shot. I should have known it made a lot of difference. I remember an automotive body man a few years ago telling a friend of mine that he only had a 8 hour window if he wanted to clear, but that was urethane or acrylic enamel. I figured that our enamels was a lot slower, but didn't want to get into the seperation problems. I see it all too often on cars.
Thanks, Jack

Jack,
I cannot STRESS this enough!! Make a test on an area that doesn't show very well especially if you are using a urethane or similar clearcoat. 1-Shot will lift if it isn't given enough time to "gas-out". If and when I clear 1-Shot, I always give it AT LEAST 48 hours before clearing. Believe me, it's better to be safe than sorry.
Make sure the first coat or two are very dry coats and then you can flood it a bit. Too heavy on the first pass and you may run into trouble.
Hope this helps,
R.T.

Is One-Shot clear a urethane or an enamel base like its other products? I would assume I would use it, if it works ok. My approx. wait is going to be 50 hours.
