Years ago you could walk into any sign shop, and chat and get any kind of help you needed. It seems these days, it is getting harder and harder to become friends with other sign shops, as they fear you are invading their territory. I have noticed this especially with the franchises. A fellow Letterhead (Palmer) emailed a friendly 'hello' awhile back.(he is only 10 minutes away from me!) We met for coffee once, and generally check in to say hi over the phone, or thru email every so often. Today I got another friendly call from Palmer, just saying he hadn't heard from me for awhile, and wanted to say hi. He is enthusiastic, and helpful in every way possible. He is a great inspiration. A family man, working to provide for his family, but in the process being a kind and caring individual. I just want to say Thanks Palmer! for being so nice, and keeping with the true Letterhead style. Best of luck to you neighbor! Cheryl

I just went to your web site to show another designer your work that is simular to his. It was the photo with Cisco, your were sharing talents. My new friend was willing to pay me to help him learn something but I declined as the addition needs to be shared just like at any Letterhead meet. I have been treated like gold from my local sign makers, graphic designers, suppliers and I believe that mindset requires "passing it on" Always a big thanks for your sharing of the talents. Ken.

Well very cool. I met Palmer once as well, he went out of his way to bring me artwork for a customer that he did work for and I had worked out a small trade with. Now thats going the extra mile!

I wish things were friendlier here on this side of the state, If it weren't for the BB here I wouldn't have any contact at all with other sign shops.

I guess I'm lucky in that there are plenty of "Palmers" in my neck of the woods, most of which have been in the business since I was just a kid! They are of the 'older' generation and know little about computers and Letterville, although they are willing to share information at the drop of a hat! When Jay, my partner/mate was diagnosed with cancer and started treatment, they rallied to help me with any and everything they could. Talk about true "Letterhead style!"
What comes around, goes around! (and visa/versa)
Thank you all for sharing! Cher.

It is hard to understand people in general.Never mind people that share the same interest!I am inviting about 15 fellow sign painters/makers over to a little grand opening of my new shop.Out of those 15,two(2)of them visit this board.Several will have me do work for them and vise-versa.Yet not all of them have what I consider the Letterhead Spirit. Go fiquire! It is up to me to have and share with others, that Spirit.I am just that way. I guess I should not be surprised, that we are not all alike. which is probably a good thing. Thanks for sharing about Palmer
