Once I used to be bothered by the phone caller who said: “How much do you’all’s banners run?”-blah blah question from me and then “I don’t know all that yet, right now I’m just getting prices”. Mostly now I chose to let myself be challenged into responding in new and creative ways without laughing or losing my cool. One of them might be to hang up while I, not the caller, is talking.
No matter what, I rarely do well with the one who says:” You aren’t hiring, are you?” or “Are you hiring?” (without even the courtesy of Hello)
Today, after hours, I got a message: “ Do you all do the spray painting on T-shirts? If you don’t would you call and let me know who does."
Anybody here interested in spraying some shirts for a family reunion?

Here is a one liner. When my children were in high school I got a call from what seemed like a real wise guy. All he said in a very smart alec voice was "is Debbie home?" I said yes and hung up.
